1. “MOODY’S” UPGRADED GEORGIA’S RATING
Economics

Moody’s Investors Service declared yesterday about upgrade of Georgia’s sovereign credit rating from “Ba3” to “Ba2”. The outlook remains as “stable”.

2. PRIME MINISTER: EXACTLY OUR AUTHORITY INITIATED ESTABLISHMENT OF RESTRICTIONS ON FARMLAND ALIENATION TO FOREIGNERS

“Land of agricultural purpose was recognized as a strategic resource and restrictions on its alienation to foreigners are set by initiative of our authority”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili pointed. “In connection with this issue, special record is made in the draft constitution”, he specified.

3. ECONOMY MINISTRY: WORK WILL BEGIN ON MARKETING STRATEGY FOR RAISING OF TOURIST RECOGNIZABILITY OF KAKHETI AND IMERETI
Economics

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that work on marketing strategy for raising of tourist recognizability of regions of Kakheti and Imereti will begin, being funded by the World Bank.

As the Ministry noted, new marketing strategy and image web pages will be prepared by National Tourism Administration and Municipal Development Fund.

4. PUBLIC REGISTER: HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL BECAME INTERESTED IN THE PROJECT OF INTRODUCTION OF BLOC-CHAIN TECHNOLOGY

National Agency of Public Register declared that Harvard Business School became interested in the project of introduction of bloc-chain technology. Meeting with representatives of the School was held in the Agency today.

5. “IPM”: 33% OF GEORGIAN HAS NO RELATIVES, CLOSE FRIENDS OR COLLEAGUES ABROAD
Society

Institute for Polling and Marketing (IPM, marketing agency) reported that within research, conducted in the Caucasus region and Russia, information was collected regarding countries, in which local respondents have relatives, close friends or colleagues with whom they maintain steady relations. The research involved per 1,200 respondents in each country.

6. BOLNISI ADMINISTRATION: NEW ROAD OPENED IN KAZRETI BOROUGH
Economics

Administration of Bolnisi municipality (Kvemo Kartli region) declared about completion of construction of asphalt concrete road with length of 1,100 m in village Kazreti.

The project worth 700,000 lari was implemented through joint financing of the regional projects fund and the local budget, the administration said.

7. AGRICULTURE MINISTER: SITUATION WITH BROWN MARMORATED STINK BUG IS REALLY DIFFICULT
Economics

Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili reported today about conducted and planned measures for fight against brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) to the Parliament’s Committee on Agrarian Issues.

“Quite complicated situation is created in Samegrelo and Guria, where despite the conducted measures, the pest has inflicted significant loss not only to hazelnut culture”, the Minister declared.

8. FINANCE MINISTRY: “CAPETHICA INVESTMENT FUND” PLANS LARGE-SCALE INVESTMENTS IN GEORGIA

Finance Ministry reported about meeting that the Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili held with representatives of British CapEthica Investment Fund (CIF).

As the Ministry said, representatives of CIF declared their intention to make large-scale investments in Georgia.

9. WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA”, LLC “LGG” TO PROCURE NEW EQUIPMENT
Business

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that LLC LGG (production of frames from metal-based laminate and aluminum) plans to purchase new equipment within “Produce in Georgia” state program.

The company is going to increase output and to introduce standard of energy-saving processing of glass, the Ministry said.

10. WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” STATE PROGRAM, “DIN GROUP” TO EXPAND OPERATION
Business

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that with assistance of “Produce in Georgia” state program, LLC Din Group will expand operation and will launch production of concrete. According to the Ministry, production will start at the end of October.
