The process of installation of electricity meters begins in Georgia’s mountainous region Svaneti, which aims eradication of illegal crypto-mining in the Mestia municipality.

According to Givi Sanikidze, a member of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission (GNERC), there were many attempts to install the meters, though they ended in vain, because there was resistance from the population.
