    Amendments had been prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and introduced for the discussion by the Agrarian Committee of the Parliament. They call for the abolishment of all kinds of taxes on the primary production and introduction of single fixed land-tax.

    Heads of GUUAM states, the alliance of Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Moldova, discussed the current situation and prospects of future cooperation. The Charter of GUUAM, the Convention of member-states on rendering assistance in consular issues and closing communique were signed at the end of 2-days meeting in Yalta (Ukraine).

This company gains a right to negotiate with Turkmenistan on behalf of Georgia on clearing operations for repayment of Georgia’s debt.

  13. PARLIAMENT HAS ONCE MORE POSTPONED RATIFICATION OF ADVANCE WITHIN THE FRAMEWORKS OF ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

    IDA, within the frameworks of the World Bank project, will allocate an advance on preparation works in the size of $1 million. The project, overall cost of which is $27.4 million, envisages assistance of affectivity increase of electricity supply and management of wholesale market of electricity.

  14. ONE OF BATTALIONS OF NATIONAL GUARD OUT OF CONTROL

    The speaker of the Parliament Zurab Zhvania informed about it while opening the morning session of the Parliament.   19. TERM FOR INTRODUCING MAIN PARAMETERS OF BUDGET-2002 MAY BE POSTPONED

    The Finance Minister intends to apply to the Parliament to postpone the terms for the introduction of the budget parameters from July 1 to August 1.
