    National Agency of Public Register has reported that permanently operating Georgian information system GEO-CORS has already joined to European network EUPOS.

    Introduction of GEO-CORS, being used for land inventory and navigation, was implemented with assistance of Sweden’s International Development Agency (SIDA) and the World Bank.

    Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry has reported that LLC B&N became owner of JSC Natadze Research Institute of Sanitary, Hygiene and Medical Ecology. The LLC will pay 750,000 lari against starting price 700,000 lari.

    Rehabilitation process applied to JSC Georgian Steel, owner company of Rustavi metallurgical plant. Corresponding decision was made by Tbilisi City Court yesterday, based on consent of mediators’ council, being set up by creditors’ meeting.

  12. AJARA IS AMONG TOP THREE REGIONS IN TERMS OF COMPANIES’ TOTAL TURNOVER AND PRODUCTION OUTPUT

    According to Sakstat’s data for 3 quarters of the year, Ajara was promoted by one position in terms of companies’ total turnover and production output and is now among top three regions.

    Tbilisi accounts for 72.9% of total turnover (6.87 billion lari), instead of last year’s 72.6%, Kvemo Kartli – 6.5% (instead of 7.1%), Ajara – 5.5% (instead of 4.7%).

    The Georgian President initiated construction of new city Lazika in Samegrelo region, between sea-resort Anaklia and port Kulevi. It is planned that Lazika should become the major trade, economic and business center of western Georgia.

    As the newspaper notes, several areas for installation of new booths (within tender, announced by Tbilisi City Hall) are identical to those places, where old press distribution booths have been placed.

    Those places, which the City Hall took away from press distributors and hand over to the chicken and eggs distributors, are locating on central streets, while lease fee reaches several thousands in some cases, the newspaper reports.

    Tavkhelidze is not sharing positions of media and civil activists, who have organized a protest action with demand to maintain specialized newsstands and blamed the government for fighting against a free press.

  20. FOURTH EMPLOYMENT FORUM IS ORGANIZED

    Tbilisi exhibition center Expo-Georgia hosted an employment forum today.

    The event is being organized already the 4th time within the USAID-funded 2-year project on consulting and employment (previous ones were held in Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi), Natia Kvitsiani, representative of International Migration Organization, which implements the project, told Sarke.
