  3. NINETEEN FOREIGN AIR CARRIERS PERMITTED FOR WINTER FLIGHTS

    Permissions for winter flights are issued to 1 Georgian (Georgian Airways) and 19 foreign air carriers. To remind, permissions for summer flights were issued to the same Georgian Airways and 15 foreign air companies.

  4. RIKOTI TUNNEL REHABILITATION BROUGHT TO END

    Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported that rehabilitation of Rikoti tunnel (connecting eastern and western parts of the country, 143rd km of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway) has been completed. The works were started in July 2010 and cost 49.3 million lari, being funded by Georgian government and the World Bank.

    In order to start demolition of illegal constructions in the next year, Tbilisi City Hall has announced a tender. About 400,000 lari is envisaged for mentioned works.

    European Union has allotted 1.8 million EUR to Georgian Finance Ministry’s Revenue Service in terms of project on strengthening phytosanitary control on economic borders. Presentation of this project was held in Tbilisi today.

    For this object, the bank will pay 8.7 million lari, against of starting price of 8.6 million lari.

    Tbilisi customers show keen interest for buying tickets of Deutsche Bahn, Levan Elizbarashvili, director of Georgian Avia Service Agency (Georgian partner of German railway operator), declared to Sarke.  On average, 15 tickets are sold every day, exceeding our expectations, he said.

    To remind, the service is offered to Georgian customers from early October.
