UP TO 200 PERSONS TOOK PART IN JOINT CONFERENCE OF THE EU AND EIB
In Science and Technology Park (Tbilisi outskirts Okrokana), joint conference of the EU and European Investment Bank (EIB) took place, at which the EIB Group (unites EIB and the European Investment Fund) has presented two programs.
According to Georgian Finance Ministry, up to 200 representatives of business, banks, microfinancial organizations, financial advisers took part in the event.
FINANCE MINISTRY: CONSULTATIONS WITH AFD ARE UNDERWAY ON FUNDS’ ALLOCATION TO GEORGIA
Georgian Finance Ministry reported that consultations with French Development Agency (AFD) are being conducted on allocation of resource to Georgia. As the Ministry specified, the matter concerns the budgetary support program and construction/rehabilitation of water supply systems.
ROADS DEPARTMENT: RECONSTRUCTION OF TRANSPORT HUB NIKEA STREET – GEGUTI WILL BE FINISHED IN JUNE
Roads Department declared that construction of 4.1-km section of transport hub Nikea Street (Kutaisi) – Geguti, being underway now, will be finished in June. According to the project, the 4-lane concrete road and 1 railway transition will be built.
GORI MUNICIPALITY: REHABILITATION CENTER FOR DISABLED WILL BE BUILT WITH POLAND’S ASSISTANCE
Gori municipality (Shida Kartli region) declared that it got funding within program on assistance to Georgia, announced by Poland’s Foreign Ministry. Funds are intended for opening of rehabilitation center for persons with disabilities in Tiniskhidi village.
HEALTHCARE MINISTRY OF AJARA: IN COMPARISON WITH PREVIOUS YEAR, BUDGET OF 2018 WILL BE INCREASED BY 1.19M LARI
According to the medium-term plan of Healthcare Ministry of Ajara, its budget for 2018 will grow by 1.19 million (by 8%) in comparison with previous year and will make up 15.75 million lari.
Next year, 31 programs will be implemented, including 7 new ones, the Ministry said.
NBG: IN 2016, BANKING SECTOR’S TOTAL LOSSES, RELATED TO OPERATIONAL RISK, MADE UP 30M LARI
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that total losses of the banking sector, which are related to operational risk, amounted in 2016 to 30 million lari.
Ratio of total losses to total income, calculated according to Basel-2 requirements, made up 1.4%, NBG said.
TOURISM ADMINISTRATION: GEORGIA IS NAMED AMONG COUNTRIES, WHERE TOURISTS ARE MORE THAN POPULATION
Georgia National Tourism Administration reported that Georgia occupies the 37th place in the list of 51 countries, where tourists are more than population size. According to the list, published by the British Telegraph, there are 1.4 tourists per capita in Georgia.
