    PRIME MINISTER: RESOLUTION, SUBMITTED TO THE US CONGRESS, CONTAINS THE MESSAGE WITH STRONG SUPPORT OF GEORGIA

    The resolution, submitted to the US Congress, contains message with strong support of Georgia, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared at the news briefing before the government meeting today.

    According to Bakhtadze, the resolution condemns Syria’s recognition of independence of Georgia regions – Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region (occupied by Russia).

    CHINA ALLOCATES 100M CNY TO GEORGIA AS FREE AID

    Chinese government allocates to Georgia free aid of 100 million CNY (about $15 million), Georgian Finance Ministry reported. Respective agreement on economic and technical cooperation between the governments of two countries was signed in Tbilisi today.


    PRIME MINISTER: REALIZATION OF STRATEGY ON STATE DEBT MANAGEMENT WILL MAKE GEORGIAN ECONOMY EVEN MORE COMPETITIVE

    “Realization of strategy on state debt management will make Georgian economy even more competitive”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated.

    The Premier said that the strategy aims “to secure development of our capital market in next years, acceleration of larization pace, strengthening of economy of Georgia, in order to make us steadier against external shocks”.


    ECONOMY MINISTER PRESENTED MAIN OBJECTIVES OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

    Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia declared that strategy on economic development of the country aims three directions – creation of jobs, development of export potential and development of innovations and technologies.

    The Minister declared this at the meeting of the Parliament’s Committee on Branch Economy and Economic Policy today, noting that additional 50,000-70,000 jobs have to be created annually, through 2025.


    ECONOMY MINISTER: CREDIT AND GUARANTEE MECHANISM WILL BE ENACTED SINCE APRIL 1

    Since April 1, the credit and guarantee mechanism will be enacted in the country, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia declared, while speaking at the meeting of the Parliament’s Committee on Branch Economy and Economic Policy today.

    According to the Minister, level of guarantee coverage for individual credits will make up 70%, while reimbursement limit for loan portfolio – 10%.


    ECONOMY MINISTER: 10 HYDROELECTRIC STATIONS WITH TOTAL CAPACITY OF 94.8 MW WILL BE PUT IN OPERATION THIS YEAR

    Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia declared that this year, 10 hydroelectric stations will be put in operation, which installed capacity totals to 94.8 MW.

    Besides, putting in operation of 230-MW thermal power plant Gardabani-2 is planned this year, as well as launch of construction of 50-MW wind station and 5-MW solar one.


    PRIME MINISTER: ONE OF KEY PRIORITIES OF THE AUTHORITIES IS EQUAL DEVELOPMENT OF ALL REGIONS OF GEORGIA

    “One of key priorities of the authorities is equal development of all regions of Georgia”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared. This is “a prerequisite of creation of new economic model and encouragement of economic development in regions “, he noted.


    50M LARI TO BE SPENT FOR REHABILITATION OF SCHOOLS

    This year, 28 schools will be built in Georgia, while 83 schools will be rehabilitated, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared at the news briefing before the government meeting today. The project envisages conduction of work, totaling to 50 million lari, he noted.


    PRIME MINISTER: THIS YEAR, 45M LARI ARE ALLOCATED FOR FIGHT AGAINST MARMORATED STINK BUG AND FUNGAL DISEASES OF CROPS

    Program of or fight against the pest, marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys), and fungal diseases of crops will be financed this year with 45 million lari, Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared at the news briefing before the government meeting today.

    The Premier specified that the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is assigned to cover by the program not only actions against the mentioned pest (as it was initially envisaged), but also problems, connected with fungal diseases.

    “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” AGENCY: POLISH “GEMBIAK-MIKSTACKI” PLANS INVESTMENT IN GEORGIA

    Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia declared that Polish company Gembiak-Mikstacki plans large investment in Georgia.

    In particular, the Agency said, the company plans to build in Kutaisi the plant, serving needs of construction and road infrastructure.
