IN 2018, PROCESSING OF FREIGHTS IN SEAPORTS AND TERMINALS DECREASED BY 7.4%
Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that freight, processed in 2018 in seaports and terminals of the country, totaled to 15.1 million t. If compared with 2017, the volume has decreased by 7.4%.

Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that volume of freight, transported by transport sphere of the country in 2018, totaled to 41.1 million t. If compared with 2017, the volume has decreased by 1%.
NBG FORECAST: IN 2 YEARS, MONETARY POLICY RATE WILL RETURN TO NEUTRAL LEVEL
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared that current forecast expects return of monetary policy rate to neutral level after the 2-year period. The rate, which makes up now 6.75%, will make up about 5.5-6%, NBG said.
NBG: IN Q4 OF 2018, STATE SECURITIES’ YIELD RATE HAD DECREASING TENDENCY
In the 4th quarter of 2018, yield rate of the state securities was characterized by decreasing tendency, National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared.
As NBG indicated, this “was caused mainly by decrease of yield rates’ fluctuation (and, respectively, of maturity premium) and expectation of decrease of monetary policy rate in medium-term period”.
THE GOVERNMENT ALLOCATED 20M LARI FOR FINANCING OF THE PROGRAM ON ELEMENTS’ PREVENTION
Georgian government allocated 20 million lari for financing of the state program on prevention of elements, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported.
According to the Ministry, funds for implementation of the program are already envisaged in regional regions fund.

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared about competition, announced for selection of design for collectible silver coin with face value of 5 lari (diameter – 33 mm).
The coin will be issued in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of establishment of the Council of Europe and the 20th anniversary of Georgia’s assessment into this organization.
NBG SUSPENDED SIGNATURE AUTHORIZATION TO “TBC BANK” SUPERVISORY COUNCIL CHAIRMAN AND HIS DEPUTY
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared about suspension of signature authorization to chairman of TBC Bank’s supervisory council Mamuka Khazaradze and his deputy Badri Japaridze.
As NBG noted, the decision was made at the meeting of committee on financial sector supervision, held on February 13.
REGULATING COMMISSION SUSPENDED RAISE OF TARIFFS, ANNOUNCED BY “MAGTICOM”
Georgian National Communication Commission declared about suspension of raise of tariffs, announced by mobile operator MagtiCom, which had to enter in force on February 18. The Commission made this decision at the meeting today.
