    IDFI: EFFECTIVE MONITORING OF OFFICIALS’ PROPERTY DECLARATIONS MAY FACE DANGER

    Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) considers that effective functioning of the mechanism of monitoring of property declarations of officials may face danger.

    In prove of the statement, the organization points at tendency of cancellation by Tbilisi city court of corresponding orders of Public Service Bureau.

    REFINED DATA: REAL GDP GROWTH IN 2017 MADE UP 4.8%

    Sakstat published refined data for 2017, according to which real GDP growth in that year made up 4.8% (against of estimated 5%). Refined change of deflator made up 6.1%, against of estimated 6.5%.


    NBG BOUGHT $10M

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared about purchase of $10 million at the currency auction today. Average weighted rate made up 2.6735 GEL/USD.


    IN Q3, INTERNATIONAL VISITORS’ SPENDING IN GEORGIA INCREASED BY 36.5% Y-O-Y

    Spending, made upon international visits to Georgia, totaled in the 3rd quarter to 3.1 billion lari, Sakstat reported. Georgian statistics service noted that the volume has increased by 36.5% year-on-year.


    PUBLIC REGISTER: INFORMATION ON OVER 1.5M EXTRACTS IS ALREADY PLACED IN BLOCKCHAIN

    Georgian National Agency of Public Register reported that information on over 1.5 million extracts is already placed in blockchain.

    The Agency launched the project, envisaging storage of information on property in the blockchain, on February 20, 2017.


    NBG BECAME ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF SECURITIES COMMISSIONS

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that it became associated member of International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). Preparation for that end was started in 2017, NBG noted.

    COUNCIL OF EUROPE DEVELOPMENT BANK APPROVED ALLOCATION OF CREDIT TO “CREDO BANK”

    Today, at the meeting in Paris, Council of Europe Development Dank (CEB) approved allocation of credit to Georgian Credo Bank, Council of Europe’s Directorate of Communications reported. Volume of the credit makes up 5 million EUR.


    “HEIDELBERGCEMENT” TO COMPLETE MODERNIZATION OF ITS KASPI PLANT IN NEXT SPRING

    Georgian government declared that project of modernization of plant of HeidelbergCement, located in Kaspi (Shida Kartli region), will be completed in spring of 2019.

    Today, Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze got acquainted on the place with course of the project, which cost makes up $100 million.

    CENTER OF INNOVATIONS OPENED IN RUKHI

    Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency of Innovations and Technologies reported about center of innovations, opened today in village of Rukhi (Zugdidi municipality of Samegrelo region).

    As the Agency declared, the center will systematically hold trainings and citizens of Georgia, residing in Abkhazia, will be able to join an innovative ecosystem.
