    ITALIAN PRESIDENT: ITALY SEES GEORGIA AS AN IMPORTANT, RELIABLE AND VALUABLE PARTNER

    “Italy sees Georgia as an important, reliable and valuable partner”, President of Italy Sergio Mattarella declared, being with the first official visit in Georgia.

    We hope that “more Italian companies will invest in Georgia, share their knowledge and enjoy the stability that Georgia offers them”, Italian President pointed.


    GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE TWO VICE-PREMIERS

    Administration of Georgian government said that there will be two Vice-Premiers in composition of the government.

    In particular, these will be the Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia and the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili.

    GEORGIAN PREMIER: WE SHOULD LAUNCH CONSULTATIONS BETWEEN GEORGIA AND ITALY ON BILATERAL AGREEMENT ON INVESTMENTS PROTECTION AND PROMOTION

    Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze declared that consultations have to start between Georgia and Italy on bilateral agreement on protection and promotion of investments. It will be very important circumstance for even more encouragement of trade relations between two countries, he said.


    GEORGIAN AGENCY OF INNOVATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES TO COOPERATE WITH ITALIAN FOUNDATION FOR TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS

    Today, Georgian Agency of Innovations and Technologies signed in Tbilisi an agreement with Italian Foundation for Technological Innovations (COTEC).

    As the Agency said, the agreement envisages experience sharing in innovative, scientific and technical spheres and implementation of joint projects and initiatives.


    IN 6 MONTHS, PASSENGER TRAFFIC AT GEORGIAN AIRPORTS INCREASED BY 30.79% Y-O-Y

    Georgian Civil Aviation Agency reported that for 6 months, 2.1 million passengers were transported (both regular and charter flights) via airports of the country. If compared with the same period of 2017, the number has increased by 30.79%, the Agency noted.


    ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEEDINGS LAUNCHED ON DEFINITION OF TARIFFS OF HEATSTATIONS AND GAS COMPANIES

    National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission launched administrative proceedings on definition of tariffs of thermal power plants and companies, operating in natural gas sector.

    The Commission explained launch of the proceedings by expiration of currently operating tariffs on December 31.

    “GEORGIAN INDUSTRIAL GROUP” IS READY TO CEDE “SAKNAKHSHIRI” TO THE STATE

    Georgian Industrial Group declared readiness to hand over its affiliate Saknakhshiri (Georgian Coal) to the state for free.

    In the released statement, the company indicates that in spite of “investment on tens of millions, made since 2006” by the Group, “unfortunately, proceeding from specifics of the Tkibuli mines, company Saknakhshiri was not succeeded to find such engineering solution, which would make coal mining absolutely safe”.
