IMF FORECAST: GEORGIA’S GDP GROWTH IN 2017 TO BE 4%
According to latest forecast of IMF (World Economic Outlook), Georgia’s GDP growth in 2017 will make up 4%. Forecast for 2018 makes up 4.2%.
THE US TRADE AND INVESTMENT MISSION VISITS GEORGIA
Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported that 30-member delegation, comprising of representatives of the US Department of Commerce and investment corporations, has arrived to Georgia.
As the Ministry pointed, the delegation includes representatives of 12 large companies, who will study investment opportunities in various directions.
THE WB WORKS ON 5-YEAR FRAME DOCUMENT ON COOPERATION WITH GEORGIA
Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared that the World Bank works on the 5-year frame document on cooperation with Georgia. “Besides regional development, core directions of this document will be education and innovations”, he said.
AS OF END OF SEPTEMBER, NUMBER OF DEBIT CARDS INCREASED BY 6.3% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that as of the end of September, there were 8.59 million debit banking cards in circulation in the country. If compared with the same period of 2016, the number has increased by 6.3%.

National Bank of Georgia reported that as of the end of September, there were 837,880 credit banking cards in circulation in the country. If compared with the same period of 2016, the number has increased by 13%.
THE STATE BUDGET TO FUND GAS INSTALLATION TO ADDITIONAL 377 HOUSEHOLDS
According to the government order, the state budget will fund gas installation to 377 households. As administration of the government said, works on gas installation will be carried out in Dablatsikhe village of Chokhatauri municipality (Guria region).
THE GOVERNMENT: ABOUT 130,000 T OF GRAPES IS ALREADY PROCESSED, WINEGROWERS GOT UP TO 150M LARI
The government reported that rtveli-2017 (vintage) “has finished with unprecedented success” – about 130,000 t of grapes is already processed, while winegrowers received income of up to 150 million lari.
In purchases of grapes, 230 companies took part, while grapes were sold by over 15,000 winegrowers.
NEW DORMITORY TO BE BUILT IN BATUMI
Dormitory for 150 places will be built on Leonidze Street in Batumi, Ajara government reported. Works should be completed in summer of 2018.
