    ADB TO FINANCE REHABILITATION OF DZIRULA-KHARAGAULI-MOLITI-PONA-CHUMATELETI ROAD

    Asian Development Bank (ADB) will finance rehabilitation of Dzirula-Kharagauli-Moliti-Pona-Chumateleti road with total length of 50 km, Georgian Finance Ministry reported.

    The project will fund roads, connecting Dzirula-Chumateleti highway with railway stations and Borjomi-Kharagauli recreational forest.


    NBG PURCHASED $10M

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared about purchase of $10 million at the currency auction today.

    Weighted average rate made up 2.4099 GEL/USD.


    PLAN OF ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR KUTAISI UNIVERSITY COMPLEX TO BE DEVELOPED TOGETHER WITH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH

    Plan of academic development for Kutaisi university complex will be developed jointly with specialists of Technical University of Munich (TUM), Georgia government declared.

    Details of cooperation are defined in the agreement, which was signed today between TUM International (the university’s subsidiary for implementation of international projects) and noncommercial legal entity Kutaisi University Complex, administration of Georgian government said.


    ECONOMY MINISTER: THE EU WILL PUBLISH DECISION ON ADMISSION OF EXPORT OF BLACK SEA FISH TO THE EU

    Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Gakharia declared that on June 20, the EU plans to publish official decision, admitting export of Black Sea fish to the EU.

    “After honey, this is one more Georgian product of animal origin, which will be admitted to the EU market as a result of reforms, carried out by us”, the Minister noted.


    TBILISI HOSTS DISCUSSION OF ISSUES OF DATA QUALITY SUPERVISION IN FINANCIAL SPHERE

    Today, 2-day international conference “Supervision of Data Quality” was started in Tbilisi. The event is organized by National Bank of Georgia (NBG) and The Dutch Bank (central bank of the Netherlands).


    THE GOVERNMENT: STATUS OF MOUNTAIN SETTLEMENT IS APPLIED TO ABOUT 45% OF 3,700 SETTLEMENTS OF GEORGIA

    Georgian government declared that status of alpine settlement was granted to about 45% of 3,700 settlements of the country.

    At today’s meeting of National Council on Mountainous Areas Development, the mentioned status was applied to 37 villages, administration of the government reported, noting that as a result, 7,000 inhabitants will use corresponding social benefits from the next year.


    REGISTRATION FOR PROGRAM ON BEEKEEPING COOPERATIVES’ SUPPORT IS EXTENDED UNTIL JULY

    Registration for the state program on beekeeping cooperatives’ support will last until July 1, the Agriculture Ministry reported. The interested entities could register on the web site of Agency of Agricultural Cooperatives Development.

    GEORGIA TAKES PART IN “VINEXPO BORDEAUX 2017” FOR THE 2ND TIME

    Georgia participates in “VinExpo Bordeaux 2017”, an international exhibition of wine and alcoholic beverages, which is held in French city of Bordeaux on June 18-21. Georgian Agriculture Ministry stresses that the country takes part in this exhibition already for the 2nd time.


    “GURJAANI ICE CREAM” GOT EQUIPMENT OF 800,000 EUR

    New equipment worth 2.2 million lari (800,000 EUR) was handed over to company Gurjaanis Nakini (Gurjaani Ice Cream), the EU representation in Georgia reported.

    The representation noted, the equipment was acquired through grant of the EU and credit of EBRD.

    SOLIDARITY FUND: SINCE OUR ESTABLISHMENT, OVER 10M LARI ARE MOBILIZED

    The government-initiated Georgian Solidarity Fund declared that since its establishment (June 9, 2014), over 10 million lari are mobilized from 702 public agencies and 65 organizations (including 53 private companies) countrywide.

    Through these funds, the Fund has covered cost of oncological treatment for 397 children and youngsters aged below 21 years.
