VICE-PREMIER: GEORGIA IS ABLE TO BE QUITE READY FOR THE COMING 3-4 YEARS

Georgia’s Vice Premier, Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili declared that Georgia “Is the country, which has overcome very successfully the crisis, existed in the region from 2014 until early 2017”.

Georgia “is able today to be quite ready for the next 3-4 years in order to present itself as one of the most successful countries in the region, as well as worldwide”, Kumsishvili assured.




FINANCE MINISTRY: WE WILL COMPLETE WORK ON PENSION REFORM THIS YEAR

Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili declared that “Works on law on pension reform will be finished this year”. “From the next year, all relevant structures will start operation”, he added.

Georgian Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection announced launch of Twinning project on industrial air pollution and industrial risks. The project, which aims approachment to environmental legislation of the EU, is funded by the EU.




GMO DIAGNOSTIC LAB OPENED AT AJARA LABORATORY RESEARCH CENTER

Ajara government announced about opening of genetically modified organisms (GMO) diagnostic lab at Ajara Agriculture Ministry’s Laboratory Research Center. The lab passed accreditation by ISO7025 standard.




CONSTRUCTION OF FIRST TWO VOLARIES ON NEW TERRITORY OF TBILISI ZOO TO FINISH IN SUMMER

Administration of Tbilisi Zoo declared that construction of first two open-air cages on new territory of the Zoo will be completed in summer. The cages are built through funding of German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

ENERGY MINISTRY: “VECTRA PETROLEUM LIMITED” AND “NAUTICAWT ENERGY” TO CARRY OUT THE THIRD PHASE OF OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION-EXTRACTION PROGRAM IN GURIA AND AJARA

Energy Ministry declared that Vectra Petroleum Limited and NauticAWT Energy will implement the third phase of oil and gas exploration-extraction program in Guria and Ajara. Respective agreement was signed between Georgian Oil and Gas State Agency and the companies today.




“EL AL” TO INCREASE FREQUENCY OF FLIGHTS TO GEORGIA

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development announced that Israeli flag carrier El Al Israel Airlines will increase frequency of flights to Georgia in summer.

The air company has got already permission on new regular flights schedule from Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.




REGULATORY COMMISSION ISSUED ELECTRICITY GENERATION LICENSE TO “AJAR ENERGY 2007”

Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission issued electricity generation license to LLC Ajar Energy 2007 today.

The license envisages generation of electricity by 47.48 MW hydroelectric station Khelvachauri HES-1.




MICROFINANCE COMPANY “CREDO” REARRANGED INTO COMMERCIAL BANK

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported about issuing of banking activity license to JSC Credo Bank today. Since 2007, the JSC had operated on local market as microfinance organization Credo.
