    AGENCY OF INNOVATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES HAS NEW HEAD

    Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that its Agency of Innovations and Technologies will be headed by Giorgi Zviadadze. The Ministry points that Zviadadze, who will start fulfillment of duties on June 21, was selected through competition.

    FIELD WORKS WITHIN NATIONAL NAVIGATION PROJECT ARE STARTED IN TBILISI

    National Agency of Public Register declared that field works within national navigation project are started in Tbilisi. Data collection has to be finished until end of the year.


    IN 2016, RATE OF SELF-SUFFICIENCY WITH POTATO INCREASED BY 2 PERCENTAGE POINTS, ONE OF VEGETABLES – DECREASED BY 2 POINTS

    Sakstat reported that in 2016, rate of self-sufficiency with potato made up 92%. In 2015, this indicator made up 90%.


    IN 2016, RATE OF SELF-SUFFICIENCY WITH GRAPES MADE UP 150%

    Sakstat reported that in 2016, rate of self-sufficiency with grapes made up 150%. In 2015, this indicator made up 121%.


    STATE SERVICE FOR INSURANCE SUPERVISION: UNIFIED SYSTEM OF REPORTING AND SUBMISSION OF AUDIT CONCLUSIONS WILL BE INTRODUCED IN INSURANCE SPHERE

    State Service for Insurance Supervision declared about signing of cooperation memorandum with Service for Accounting, Reporting and Audit Supervision.

    The memorandum aims formation of unified system of reporting and submission of audit conclusions by entities, subjected to supervision of State Service for Insurance Supervision.


    NET PROFIT OF INSURANCE COMPANIES IN Q1 INCREASED BY 29.7% Y-O-Y

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that as of March 31, net profit of insurance companies totaled to 5.67 million lari. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has increased by 29.7%.


    IN TOTAL ATTRACTED PREMIUM FOR Q1, 3 TYPES OF INSURANCE ACCOUNTED FOR 83.86%

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted by insurance companies in the 1st quarter, totaled to 143.8 million lari, increasing year-on-year by 10%.

    Out of total sum, share of 3 kinds of insurance (medical (health) insurance, insurance of land transport (except railway) and property insurance) made up 83.86%.

    TBILISI CITY HALL ANNOUNCED BIDDING FOR PAYMENT SYSTEM’S CREATION IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT

    Tbilisi City Hall declared that bidding is announced on creation and operation of payment system in public transport of the city.

    The interested financial institutions should submit their applications to municipal enterprise Tbilisi Transport Company through July 10.


    IN Q1, 59% OF TOTAL REIMBURSEMENT WAS PAID BY 3 COMPANIES

    State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that total volume of reimbursement, paid in the 1st quarter, amounted to 56.09 million lari, decreasing by 0.9% year-on-year.

    At that, 59% of total volume was paid by 3 companies (GPIH, Imedi-L and Aldagi).

    EMC: DRAFT BILL “ON LABOR SAFETY” DOES NOT REFLECT ADEQUATELY NEED OF LABOR SAFETY SUPERVISION

    Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) declared that draft bill “On Labor Safety” does not meet the country’s needs in this sphere.

    Considerable lack of the draft is the limited sphere of its action, EMC pointed.
