DRAFT OF CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS APPROVED IN FIRST HEARING

At the extraordinary session today, the Parliament unanimously (115 votes pro with no votes contra) approved in first hearing the draft of constitutional amendments. The opposition refused to vote in protest against the amendments.

THE GOVERNMENT: IN CASE OF PENALTY PAYMENT BY CAR OWNER IN DUE TIME, ITS VOLUME WILL BE REDUCED BY 20%

The government declared that incentive mechanism will be introduced in connection with penalties, imposed on car owners after video surveillance.

Namely, so-called grace period will be envisaged and in case of penalty payment during this period (10 days) volume of penalty will be reduced by 20%, administration of the government said.




PUBLIC REGISTER BEGINS IMPLEMENTATION OF PILOT PROJECT ON SYSTEMATIC REGISTRATION OF LAND

Justice Ministry declared that within reform of land registration, National Agency of Public Register begins implementation of the pilot project on systematic registration.

The project represents the 2^nd stage of the reform, started in August 2016, within which total registration of land plots, being in private, state and municipal property, will be held in pre-selected geographical areas, the Ministry noted.




TEALEAF PRODUCTION IN 2016 GREW BY 42.8%

Sakstat reported that production of tealeaf in 2016 made up 3,000 t. If compared with 2015, the volume has increased by 42.8%.




CITRUS HARVEST IN 2016 DECREASED BY 15.6%

Sakstat reported that harvest of citruses in 2016 made up 65,500 t. If compared with 2015, the volume has decreased by 15.6%.




WALNUT PRODUCTION IN 2016 DECREASED BY 16.4%

Sakstat reported that production of walnut in 2016 made up 29,500 t. If compared with 2015, the volume has decreased by 16.4%.




HONEY PRODUCTION IN 2016 GREW BY 5%

Sakstat reported that production of honey in 2016 made up 2,100 t. If compared with 2015, the volume has increased by 5%.

SHARES OF ““KARTLI” WIND POWER PLANT” TO BE PLACED ON GEORGIAN STOCK EXCHANGE

The government decided to place shares of “Kartli” Wind Power Plant on Georgian Stock Exchange.

While declaring this at today’s meeting of the government, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili pointed that such form of privatization will encourage stock exchange and at the same time will give opportunity to local investors to get share in the project.




“GULF AIR” BEGAN REGULAR FLIGHTS TO TBILISI

TAV Georgia (operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports) reported that Bahraini air carrier Gulf Air has started regular flights from Bahrain to Tbilisi today.

Flights are conducted 3 times a week (on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays) on Airbus 320-321.




ECONOMY MINISTRY: “UV PRINT” WILL INTRODUCE NEW TECHNOLOGIES WITH ASSISTANCE OF “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM

Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that with assistance of “Produce in Georgia” state program, LLC UV Print will introduce new technologies. The company will be able to produce printed materials of a wide format on any surface, required for interior or exterior finish, the Ministry said.

“ACT”: 92% OF TBILISI RESIDENTS CONSIDER ECONOMIC CRISIS AS MOST REAL DANGER

Referring to results of survey, Analysis and Consulting Team (ACT) declared that 92% of Tbilisi residents consider that the country has found itself in danger of economic crisis.

While responding to interviewers of the company, Tbilisi residents mentioned also such dangers as migration (85%), environmental disasters (85%), demographic crisis (84%), occupation of Georgian territories by other countries (83%).
