AVERAGE CONSUMER’S LIVING WAGE MADE UP 137.6 LARI IN MARCH

Sakstat reported that living wage of average consumer made up 137.6 lari in March, while one of average family – 260.7 lari. In the same period of 2013, these showings made up 131.5 lari and 249 lari (respectively, year-on-year growth – 4.63% and 4.69%).

PENALTIES ON ADMINISTRATIVE FINES TO BE REDUCED

The government endorsed at yesterday’s meeting draft amendment to Administrative Code, being initiated by Interior Ministry, which envisages imposition of penalty for non-paid fine as doubled amount of the fine, but not more than 500 lari. According to current edition, penalty for non-payment of fine within set 30 days makes up 150 lari, if fine amounts up to 100 lari, and 500 lari, if fine exceeds 100 lari.

According to preliminary data of Sakstat, crops’ area made up 303,800 ha in 2013. If compared with 2012, this area has increased by 17.02%.

9 GEORGIAN WINE COMPANIES PARTICIPATED IN “REAL WINE FAIR 2014”

National Wine Agency reported that it has supported participation of 9 Georgian wine companies, engaged in production of so-called “kvevri wine” (kvevri is traditional Georgian sub-ground pitcher for wine storage), in international exhibition of natural wine “Real Wine Fair 2014”. Respective event, being attended by about 150 wineries from around the world, was held on April 13-14 in London.

GWP (Tbilisi company of water supply and sewerage) reported about implementation of preventive works on drainage wells in Tbilisi water grid, being launched this month. The company declared that it plans to restore about 2,700 wells by the end of the year, refraining to disclose the cost.

Bank of Georgia Holdings decided to pay dividends from profit of Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia, in which Bank of Georgia Holdings owns more than 75%) for 2013. Dividend per share to amount to 2 lari.
