IN Q2, GEORGIA’S DEBT TO MULTILATERAL CREDITORS DECLINED TOWARD IMF ONLY

According to data of the Finance Ministry as of June 30, Georgia’s foreign public debt to multilateral creditors amounted to $2.72 billion (66.71% of total foreign public debt), increasing by 2.21% year-on-year. At that, debt to IMF decreased 2.59 times, amounting to $208.85 million.

Sakstat published preliminary estimations, saying that Georgia’s foreign trade with goods amounted in the first half of the year to $5.44 billion. If compared with adjusted data of the same period of 2013, turnover has increased by 15.57%.

National Bank of Georgia reported that out of total remittances to Georgia in the 2nd quarter ($373.71 million), 83.46% accounted for 5 countries. Namely, remittances from Russia, Greece, Italy, the US and Turkey totaled to $311.92 million.

OVER 61% OF TOTAL REMITTANCES FROM GEORGIA WERE TRANSFERRED TO 3 COUNTRIES

National Bank of Georgia reported that out of total remittances, transferred in the 2nd quarter from Georgia abroad ($41.77 million), 61.01% accounted for 3 countries. Namely, remittances to Russia, Ukraine and Greece totaled to $25.48 million.

“GOLDEN CROWN” MAINTAINS LEADER’S POSITION ON GEORGIAN MARKET OF REMITTANCES

National Bank of Georgia reported that Golden Crown led in the 2nd quarter in terms of remittances, transferred to Georgia. Through this company, remittances of $98.61 million were transferred in the reporting quarter, increasing year-on-year by 24.47% and accounting for 26.38% of total volume of remittances to the country.

AGRICULTURE MINISTER: NATIONAL PROGRAM IS DEVELOPED, ENVISAGING APPROVAL OD 90 LEGISLATIVE ACTS

Agriculture Minister Shalva Pipia declared that following Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, signed with EU (DCFTA), national program is developed, which envisages approval of about 90 legislative acts. The program describes all necessary requirements, including requirement on production standard, he said.
