1. DELEGATION OF UAE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY TO TAKE PART IN BUSINESS-FORUM IN GEORGIA

Press-service of the Georgia’s Prime Minister reported that delegation of Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry will visit Georgia on October 29, to take part in business-forum, organized by Asian Development Bank (ADB).

To remind, visit of Georgia’s Premier Irakli Garibashvili to UAE has ended today.

2. AVERAGE MONTHLY SALARY DECREASED IN 6 MONTHS, WHILE INCREASED IN ONE QUARTER
Economics

According to Sakstat’s data, average monthly nominal salary in the 2nd quarter made up 864.4 lari. That showing has decreased by 1.26% in 6 months, but increased by 8.67% in one quarter.

3. FINANCIAL SECTOR HAD STILL HIGHEST PAYABLE JOBS IN Q2
Economics

According to Sakstat’s data, highest average monthly salary in the 2nd quarter still was in financial sector – 1,803 lari. This showing has increased by 26.96% in 6 months, while by 3.33% – in one quarter.

4. PUBLIC REGISTRY TO ASSUME MAINTENANCE OF MUNICIPALITIES’ REGISTRIES
Politics

National Agency of Public Registry declared that from now on, they will run municipalities’ registries also. This change is envisaged by new Code on Self-Government.

5. ROADS DEPARTMENT: BUDGET OF 3 QUARTERS IS MASTERED BY 71% FOR NOW
Economics

Roads Department reported that 157 million lari is spent as of today out of 3-quarter budget of 220 million lari, i.e. 71% of the plan.

“Information spread by press that construction of (East-West) highway lags behind does not correspond to reality”, the Department declared, pointing: “In 2013, 3-quarter budget of construction projects was fulfilled by 56%, in 2012 – by 50%, in 2011 – by 55%”.

6. TRAFFIC TO RESUME ON HIGHWAY’S SECTION OF 40 KM THIS YEAR
Economics

Roads Department declared that traffic will be resumed this year on East-West highway’s section of more than 40 km.

Namely, Kutaisi bypass section of 32 km will be put in operation in October, while 11-km Agara-Ruisi section – by the end of the year, the Department pointed.

7. REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE MINISTER: ONGOING PROJECTS OF KFW TO CONTINUE WITHOUT OBSTACLES

David Shavliashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, has met today with representatives of German credit bank for reconstruction (KfW).

As the Ministry reported, the sides had discussed ongoing infrastructural projects, implemented with support of KfW, and set plans for future cooperation.

8. AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: CULTIVATION OF VINEYARDS AND CADASTRAL WORKS ARE IN PROGRESS

According to the Agriculture Ministry, peasants in Kakheti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Ajara are engaged in cultivation of vineyards. The Ministry connects it to holding last year “organized and successful vintage”.

9. ACCORDING TO LATEST DATA, LOANS OF $6M WERE ISSUED IN INDUSTRIAL FIELD WITHIN STATE PROGRAM “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA”

According to latest data, published by the government, loans of $6 million were issued in industrial field through the program “Produce in Georgia”. Currently, 27 projects are under consideration.

According to latest data, published by the government, there are about 200 agricultural cooperatives established in the country. As the government noted, majority of them is engaged in primary production.

11. TWO BENEFICIARIES BECAME INTERESTED IN LEASING WITHIN PREFERENTIAL AGROLENDING
Economics

According to the government, as of September 1, credits of $59,799 were issued to 2 beneficiaries within preferential agro-leasing (the 4th component of preferential agrolending program).

To remind, preferential agrolending program was started on March 27, 2013, while nobody expressed interest to its 4th component as of April of this year.

12. TSU RECTOR: UNFORTUNATELY, ALIENATION OF UNIVERSITY’S PROPERTY ASSUMED FORM OF TRADITION
Society

“Unfortunately, alienation of the University-owned property and launch of unacceptable activities, being in dissonance with the University’s buildings, become a tradition”, rector of Tbilisi State University (TSU) Lado Papava declared.

This time, “Nearby to the University’s high-rise building, where besides two study buildings, a library is located and Students and Scientists House has to be built in near future, construction of gas filling station has started on place of public transport’s collector”, the rector said in a statement, released today.
