1. GEORGIA AND TURKEY AGREED ON SIMPLIFICATION OF CUSTOMS PROCEDURES
Politics

Georgia and Turkey agreed on simplification of customs procedures, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The agreement was reached at the meeting of Georgian-Turkish mixed economic commission, which was held on November 14 in Turkish capital Ankara.

2. THE EU AND THE UN PROMOTE GROWTH OF COMPETITIVENESS OF GEORGIAN PRIVATE SECTOR
Economics

Georgian representation of the UN Development Program (UNDP) reported that up to 100 representatives of Georgian private companies and business associations, as well as of international organizations took part in a stakeholder forum in Tbilisi today.

As UNDP representation noted, the forum was organized by the EU in cooperation with 4 agencies of the UN – UNDP, Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and International Organization for Migration (IOM).

3. FISCAL COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN: NBG HAS TO PRESENT DOCUMENT ON ACTIONS IN THE NEXT 3 YEARS, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT NEW REALITIES
Economics

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) has to present the document on actions in the next 3 years for consideration at the Parliament of the country “taking into account new realities”, chairman of Fiscal Committee Irakli Kovzanadze considers.

Kovzanadze declared this today, upon consideration of the draft of main directions of money-and-credit and currency policy for 2020-2022 in the Committee.

4. IN WINTER NAVIGATION SEASON, GEORGIAN AIRPORTS TO SERVE 340 REGULAR FLIGHTS A WEEK ON AVERAGE
Economics

Between last week of October 2019 and last Saturday of March 2020 (i.e. during winter navigation season), Georgian airports will serve a week per 340 regular flights on average, Georgian Civil Aviation Agency declared.

The Agency noted that in the same season of the last year, airports of the country served per 375 flights a week on average (to remind, Russia has prohibited since July 8 direct air communication with Georgia, i.e. the Agency assumes that there will be no direct Russia flights in winter season).

5. 4 PERSONS APPLIED TO COMPETITION FOR THE VACANT POST OF THE COMMUNICATION COMMISSION MEMBER

Georgian government reported that competition, announced for the vacant post of member of the National Communication Commission, is applied by 4 persons. Deadline for application submission expired on November 15.

6. “KPMG GEORGIA” TO CONDUCT AUDIT OF THE PENSION AGENCY IN 2019-2020
Business

Georgian Parliament reported that audit of the Pension Agency for 2019-2020 will be conducted by KPMG Georgia. As the Parliament noted, the company was selected because of its best technical and financial offers.

7. TBILISI CITY HALL PLANS TO MOUNT GAS COLLECTOR ON GARBAGE DUMP IN LILO
Economics

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared that the City Hall will announce in the next few days the tender for design and construction of the gas-collecting station on a garbage dump in the city’s suburb Lilo.

“That will be the project of about 2 years and its cost will make up 50-60 million lari”, the Mayor declared at the capital government meeting today.

8. TBILISI CITY HALL STARTS REHABILITATION OF THE ROAD TO TURTLE LAKE
Economics

Tbilisi City Hall reported that its service of infrastructure development begins rehabilitation of the road, leading to the Turtle Lake.

According to the City Hall, the rehabilitation project will cost over 2.5 million lari.

9. TBILISI MAYOR: LONG-TERM PROBLEM OF “CENTER POINT” MUST BE SETTLED
Business

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared that a meeting with construction companies is planned in next week, being dedicated to case of development company Center Point.

As the Mayor explained at the capital government meeting today, all incomplete projects of Center Point will be offered to builders in order that “this long-term problem was settled”.
