1. GEORGIAN FINANCE MINISTER DISCUSSED MACROFINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OF THE EU
Politics

Today, Georgia’s Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri met with representatives of Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of EU.

As the Finance Ministry said, the meeting scoped issues of Georgia-EU cooperation, including course of fulfillment of liabilities, undertaken by Georgia under memorandum on macrofinancial assistance, signed with EU.

2. FUNDS TO BE GAINED FROM PRIVATIZATION THIS YEAR INCREASED IN VOLUME
Economics

Budget Office of the Parliament declared that according to draft amendments to the state budget-2015, submitted to the Parliament, receipts to be gained from reduction of nonfinancial assets (i.e. from privatization) are increased by 45 million lari (by 19.1%) up to 280 million lari. The growth is conditioned by growth of receipts to be gained from fixed assets realization, the Office pointed.

3. BUDGET OFFICE: IN LAST 3 MONTHS OF THE YEAR, AVERAGE SHOWING OF EXPENSES’ EXECUTION SHOULD EXCEED ONE OF PREVIOUS 9 MONTHS BY 129.9M LARI
Economics

If we assume that parameters, planned by the budget-2015, will be fulfilled, than average showing of expenses execution in the last 3 months of the year should exceed one of previous 9 months by 129.9 million lari (i.e. 1.2 times), Budget Office of the Parliament declared, while commenting of draft amendments to the budget-2015, submitted to the Parliament.

At that, the Office pointed that nevertheless this showing of fulfillment is less than showing of the same period of 2014.

4. BUDGET OFFICE: IT IS LESS PROBABLE THAT PLAN FULFILLMENT OF TAX REVENUES WILL HAVE ANY DIFFICULTIES THIS YEAR

It is less probable that fulfillment of plan on tax revenues for 2015 will have any difficulties, the Parliament’s Budget Office declared. However, some deviations in certain types of revenues could still appear, the Office pointed, while commenting on draft amendments to the state budget-2015, submitted to the Parliament.

5. CONFERENCE HELD ON CLIMATE CHANGE
Politics

Tbilisi hosted conference “Climate Change Policy in Georgia” today. Within the conference, Georgia has presented its 3rd report to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

6. CENTER FOR CIVIL INVOLVEMENT: FINANCING OF SCIENCE RAISES DURING PAST YEARS
Economics

Among activities, which aimed science development, Center for Civil Involvement marked programmatic funding of research institutes in 2015, referring to data of Education and Science Ministry.

The mentioned funding amounts to 20.9 million lari, which almost 3 times exceeds showing of the past years, the Center noted.

7. ECONOMY MINISTRY: OVER 372M LARI INVESTED IN ENTERPRISES, ESTABLISHED WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM
Economics

According to latest data of Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry, up to 327 million lari has been invested in 123 enterprises, established within “Produce in Georgia” state program. Number of employed reaches 7,000, the Ministry says.

8. PHARMACEUTICAL FACTORY “YNNOVAS” OPENED WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA”
Business

Pharmaceutical enterprise Ynnovas was opened in Tbilisi (Lilo settlement) today, which got from TBC Bank funding of $2 million within “Produce in Georgia” state program. According to the company, total volume of investments makes up 9 million lari.

9. IFC FUNDS CONSTRUCTION OF 3-STAR HOTEL IN TBILISI
Business

International Financial Corporation (IFC, World Bank member) declared about allocation of $7 million to subsidiary of m2 Real Estate, provided for construction of 3-star hotel of international brand in Tbilisi. The matter concerns 152-room Ramada Encore Hotel.

10. “GALT&TAGGART” OFFERED ONLINE TRADING PLATFORM JOINTLY WITH “SAXO BANK”
Business

Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) announced that Galt&Taggart (investment company of Bank of Georgia Holdings) offers now online trading platform jointly with Copenhagen-based Saxo Bank.

To remind, the sides signed agreement on exclusive partnership in Georgia in October.
