1. ANNUAL PLAN OF STATE BUDGET REVENUES FULFILLED BY 101.1%
Economics

Treasury Service of the Finance Ministry reported that factual revenues of the state budget had amounted for 2014 to 7.4 billion lari. Accordingly, annual plan is fulfilled by 101.1%.

2. ANNUAL PLAN OF STATE BUDGET EXPENDITURE FULFILLED BY 99.36%
Economics

Treasury Service of the Finance Ministry reported that factual expenditure of the state budget totaled in 2014 to 8.15 billion lari. Accordingly, annual plan is fulfilled by 99.36%.

3. OUT OF BUDGET EXPENDITURE, MADE LAST YEAR UNDER ARTICLE OF ECONOMIC ACTIVITY, 58.5% ACCOUNTED FOR TRANSPORT
Economics

Treasury Service of the Finance Ministry reported that out of total expenses, made last year under article of economic activity (992.18 million lari, plan fulfillment – 97.1%), 58.53% (i.e. 580.69 million lari) has accounted for transport. Plan fulfillment in this direction made up 94.72%.

4. EU ALLOCATED GRANT OF 13M EUR FOR GEORGIA WITHIN MACRO-FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Economics

EU Neighborhood Info Center reported that today EU allocated grant of 13 million EUR for Georgia.

This sum is part of the first tranche within Macro-Financial Assistance Program (MFA) for Georgia of 46 million EUR, approved in 2013, the Center specified and added the first tranche includes also loan of 10 million EUR, “which will be disbursed shortly”.

5. JAPANESE GOVERNMENT TO ALLOCATE GRANT OF $178,534 WITHIN TWO PROJECTS OF GGP
Economics

Japanese government will allocate grant of $178,534 for two projects, funded within “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects” (GGP).

Signing ceremony on these grants will be held tomorrow at the residence of Japanese ambassador to Georgia.

6. IN 2014, TURKEY ACCOUNTED FOR MOST VISITORS AGAIN, BUT THEIR NUMBER REDUCED
Economics

Georgian National Tourism Administration reported that Turkey accounted in 2014 for biggest part of visitors to Georgia – 1.44 million persons. Despite maintenance of the first position, number of visitors from Turkey has decreased by 10%, if comparing to 2013.

7. AT THE BEGINNING OF 2015, SHARE OF BANKING ASSETS IN GDP INCREASED BY 5.7 PP Y-O-Y
Economics

National Bank of Georgia reported that as of January 1, ratio of banking sector’s total assets to GDP made up 70.1%. If compared to the same date of 2014, this ratio has increased by 5.7 percentage points (pp).

8. VOLUME OF NON-BANKING DEPOSITS IN BANKING SECTOR INCREASED BY 19.59% Y-O-Y
Economics

National Bank of Georgia reported that volume of non-banking deposits in Georgia’s banking sector reached 11.6 billion lari by January 1. If compared to the same period of 2014, the volume has increased by 19.59%.

9. GEORGIA AND LITHUANIA SIGNED AGREEMENT ON ECONOMIC COOPERATION
Politics

Tbilisi hosted Georgian-Lithuanian business forum today, which was held with support of chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries and in which about 30 Lithuanian companies took part.

Within the forum, Prime Ministers of Georgia and Lithuania signed agreement on economic cooperation.

10. AMENDED PROCEDURES ON SELECTION/EVALUATION OF TENDER PARTICIPANTS TO ENTER IN FORCE IN FEBRUARY
Politics

State Procurement Agency reported that amendments were made to “Rule of Holding Simplified Procurement, Simplified Electronic Tender and Electronic Tender”.

Amendments, related to participants’ selection/evaluation procedures will be launched on February 15, while other changes of technical nature will enter in force immediately after publication, said the Agency.

11. CUSTOMERS OF “TELASI” CONSUMED BY 10.9% MORE ELECTRICITY IN 2014
Business

According to operative data of JSC TELASI (Tbilisi energy distributor), volume of electricity, supplied to consumers in 2014, made up 2.115 billion kWh, increasing by 10.9% year-on-year. “Growth of this showing is caused in the first instance by growth of consumption and reduction of losses”, said the company.
