Survey, conducted by order of National Democratic Institute (NDI), shows that top five of most important national issues consists of jobs, poverty, territorial integrity, price growth (inflation) and pensions. The survey was conducted during the period from June 8 to July 6.

KIKORIA: DE-DOLLARIZATION POLICY SHOULD INCREASE CREDITS, ISSUED IN LARI

Murtaz Kikoria, director general of Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia), points that requirements, set on minimal reserves of commercial banks, “are tools that National Bank uses for support of de-dollarization”. Since change of requirements, made in June, “not much time has passed, but that will be inevitably reflected on the market and volume of loans, issued in lari, will increase, which trend is already observed”, Kikoria says.

Irina Guruli, program manager at Economic Policy Research Center, estimates that “processes, ongoing in Turkey, will for sure have negative impact” on economic cooperation with Georgia. “Especially, if current situation with decreasing export is not regulated timely, if Turkish economy will appear in recession, Georgia’s export will be reduced”, Guruli says.
