GEORGIA TO HOST AVIATION FORUM “ROUTES SILK ROAD 2014”

International aviation forum “Routes Silk Road 2014” will be held in Tbilisi on July 6-8. According to Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry, the event will gather about 300 participants, including representatives of about 50 air companies and 60 airports.

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili ordered to expand the state program “Produce in Georgia” with new direction, which targets support to construction of “water-processing plants”. As press-service of the Premier said, the decision was made at the meeting of coordinating council on drinking water industry’s development, which held today under chairmanship of Garibashvili.

Tbilisi mayorship nominee of ruling Georgian Dream coalition David Narmania declared that assistance program for small and medium business will start “in order to increase maximally economic potential of Tbilisi in shortest terms”. He promised to spend 100 million lari for that end, which will be equally distributed among all 10 districts of the capital.

REALTY INVENTORY COMPLETED IN 5 CITIES

Public Registry Agency declared that realty inventory, conducted within addressing project, has completed in 5 cities. Namely, inventory of 20,565 realties was conducted in Poti, of 11,938 ones – in Samtredia, of 10,382 – in Senaki, of 10,140 – in Zestaponi and of 3,444 – in Lanchkhuti.

AYEPG: 97% OF RURAL POPULATION AND 27% OF URBAN ONE USE TIMBER FOR HEATING

Association of Young Power Engineers of Georgia (AYPEG) declared that 97% of rural population and 27% of urban one use timber of household heating. Our survey showed also that timber use is extremely ineffective and woodcutting exceeds level of forest renovation, the Association said.

CONSTRUCTION OF ZESTAPONI-KUTAISI GAS MAIN COMPLETED BY 68%

Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation declared that construction of Zestaponi-Kutaisi 23-km section of 700-mm gas main is completed by 68%. Construction, launched in spring, is expected to come to end in October.

State-owned JSC Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation reported that its subsidiary company LLC Gardabani completed 2013 with loss of 1.09 million lari. Gardabani was established in October 2013 by the Corporation (51%) and Partnership Fund (49%).

Following order of the Prime Minister, state-owned land plot with constructions in village Kulevi of Khobi municipality (Samegrelo region) will be directly sold to LLC Georgian Fish Company So&Co. The matter concerns land plot with area of 147,048 square m and 8 buildings with total area of 3,541 square m.

“TTC” GOT FUNDS, ENVISAGED BY LAST YEAR’S TBILISI BUDGET, ALMOST FULLY

Tbilisi municipal transport company TTC (Tbilisi Transport Company) reported that Tbilisi city budget for 2013 envisaged 51.8 million lari for the company. Out of this sum, TTC get in fact 51.78 million lari, i.e. by only 0.03% less the plan.

MODERNIZATION OF SUBWAY’S RUNNING STOCK TO COMPLETE THIS YEAR

Tbilisi municipal transport company TTC (Tbilisi Transport Company) reported that modernization of 14 cars of subway trains was implemented in 2013. In total, renovation applied to 131 cars, i.e. to 85% of operational running stock.
