LOANS, ISSUED WITHIN THE 2ND COMPONENT OF PREFERENTIAL AGROLENDING PROGRAM, TOTAL TO 223.92M LARI

Project Management Agency of the Agriculture Ministry declared that loans, issued as of July 4 within the 2nd component of preferential agrolending program (credits to medium and large farmers), totaled to 223.92 million lari. More than half (51.6%) of total sum is allotted in Kakheti region (5,489 loans of 115.61 million lari).

Project Management Agency of the Agriculture Ministry declared that loans, issued as of July 4 within the 3rd component of preferential agrolending program (establishment of new enterprises and re-equipment of existing ones), totaled to 124.08 million lari. Out of total, two regions (Kakheti and Kvemo Kartli) account for 60%.

Project Management Agency of the Agriculture Ministry declared that investment in new enterprises, established within preferential agrolending program (74 ones as of July 4), totaled to 66.7 million lari. At that, owners account for 41 million lari (61.47%), while remained 25.7 million lari were allotted by the program.

PREFERENTIAL AGROLENDING PROGRAM MANAGER: ABOUT 700 APPLICANTS SEEK CO-FUNDING OF THEIR PROCESSING ENTERPRISES

Irakli Moistsrapishvili, manager of the state program on preferential agrolending, declared that there are about 700 applications submitted within project of processing enterprises’ co-funding. “These applications are considered now and we expect results by autumn”, Moistsrapishvili declared today, at presentation of 74 new enterprises, established through preferential agrolending program.

National Agency of Public Register reported that number of realty registrations in January-June amounted countrywide to 246,360. If compared to the same period of 2013, the number has increased by 9.34%.

Georgian lari has own symbol, which was selected at competition, announced in last December. The symbol, which design is based on graphical image of Georgian alphabet’s letter “L”, was created by Malkhaz Shvelidze.

NATIONAL CURRENCY SUPPLY IN Q2 INCREASED BY 4.44% Q-O-Q

According to National Bank of Georgia, national currency supply amounted as of June 30 to 2.2 billion lari. At the end of the 1st quarter, this showing amounted to 2.11 billion lari, therefore quarter-on-quarter growth made up 4.44%.

“NATIONAL MOVEMENT”: REAL REASON OF PRICE GROWTH ON FUEL, DRUGS AND FOOD IS LARI DEVALUATION

Zurab Japaridze, MP from oppositional National Movement, declared that real reason of price growth on fuel, drugs and food is “devaluation of lari, which is intentionally implemented by the government in order to secure fulfillment of budgetary revenue plan”. Japaridze pointed that in April 2012, when then oppositional Georgian Dream spoke about monopolies and artificially increased prices on fuel market, these prices ranged within 2.05-2.10 lari, while they make up 2.14-2.32 lari now.
