EUROPEAN COMMISSIONER EXPRESSES CONCERN CONCERNING BILL “ON TRANSPARENCY OF FOREIGN INFLUENCE” THAT GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT SPEAKER DOES NOT SHARE
Michael O’Flaherty, Commissioner for Human Rights of Council of Europe, expresses concern about compatibility of the draft law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence”, being considered in the Georgian Parliament, with European standards of human rights and freedom of association and expression. In his letter to the speaker of the Georgian Parliament, published today, O’Flaherty points to the negative effect on the work of media and civil society organizations that the adoption of the bill could have.
