    Investigative Service of the Finance Ministry reported about detention of Giorgi Goniashvili on attempt of especially large illegal income’s legalization. “Upon personal search, sum in lari, equivalent to $160,000, was removed”, the Service declared.

  3. CO-INVESTMENT FUND INVESTED IN “BITFURY”

    Georgian Co-Investment Fund announced that it has subscribed for convertible notes of $10 million, issued by BitFury, at pre-money valuation of $250 million.

    As the Fund said, this financing “will enable BitFury to roll out its next generation proprietary semi-conductors, ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) and custom servers, supporting the world’s largest bitcoin mining data center development in Georgia”.

    Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared that Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti region has the biggest potential for Georgian economy.

    “In next 10 years, largest projects will be implemented supposedly in this region in terms of logistics and transport development”, the Minister has declared at the business forum “Anaklia 2014” (May 31 – June 1).

    Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) declared that in 2013, members of Georgian National Communication Commission Akaki Sikharulidze, Irakli Moseshvili and Sopio Britanchuk got the highest income (salaries, increments and bonuses) among selected agencies – respectively, 311,744 lari, 309,886 lari and 309,876 lari. These persons accounted also for the largest received bonuses or increments – 120,000 lari per each.

    According to the government resolution, agricultural land site of 732,501 square m with existing buildings in Signagi municipality (Kakheti region) will be given in 10-year lease to private individual Giorgi Bolgashvili. Annual rent fee makes up 7,760 lari.
