    Motor-Road Department informed Sarke that rehabilitation of Samtredia-Kutaisi-Zestaponi roads will be launched for near future. Currently, detailed study of the project is underway, the Department noted.

    Basisbank reports that new branches are planned to open in Poti and Kutaisi during 2010. It should be noted that in west Georgia the bank has currently branch in Batumi only.

  7. “TOBE” TO LAUNCH PRODUCTION OF NEW REINFORCED CONCRETE CONSTRUCTIONS

    Tengiz Chikhradze, director of concrete and ferroconcrete producing LLC Tobe, told Sarke that the company plans to launch production of new types of reinforced concrete constructions in near future. He refrained to name expected investments, noting that new production would require “millions of lari”.

    Motor-Road Department informs on new bridge, opened at the 44th km of Kutaisi-Tskaltubo-Tsageri-Lentekhi-Lasdili road of domestic importance over river Tskhenistskali (village Opitara, Racha-Lechkhumi region).

    The state budget paid cost of rehabilitation – 3.53 million lari.

    Several new offices are planned to open in regions this year, insurance company Aldagi BCI informed Sarke, not defining exact number of offices.

    To remind, the company has 2 offices in Tbilisi and regional branches in Kutaisi, Poti, Ozurgeti and Batumi.

  11. AIR PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN GEORGIAN AIRPORTS REDUCED BY 3.9% IN 2009

    United Transport Administration reports that 772,055 passengers were transferred through Georgian airports in 2009, i.e. by 3.9% less year-on-year.

    Of which, 702,563 passengers were transferred by Tbilisi International Airport (decrease – 1.7%), 69,492 passengers accounted for Batumi International Airport (decrease – 12.8%).

    Finance Ministry’s Revenue Service has brought property of LLC Clean.ge (cleaning service) for auction. Starting price is 781,949 lari.

    Maka Jaoshvili, PR manager of JSC Nikora (meat packing and dairy producing), told Sarke that in 2010 the company will set priority on brand network expansion and design perfection.

    For instance, the company plans to open 2 new stores in Kutaisi in near future, Jaoshvili said.

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) announced tender on purchasing telephone service for the period between March 1 and December 31 of 2010. The tender will be held in 3 lots.

    Sakhalkho Banki (People’s Bank) said that due to transferred sum for pension and social aid distribution, it will work on January 19. Namely, the bank’s branches and service-centers will operate for full day in Tbilisi as well as Akhaltsikhe, Batumi, Gori, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Poti, Rustavi, Telavi, Zugdidi.

    Mikheil Tigishvili, director of LLC Georgia International Holding, declared to Sarke that Egyptian company Fresh plans to invest $335 million in Kutaisi free industrial zone this year. He said that Egyptians invested $115 million in 2009.
