    IN JANUARY-SEPTEMBER, EXPORT INCREASED BY 28.3% Y-O-Y, IMPORT – BY 7.4%

    Sakstat released estimation for 9-month foreign trade, according to which Georgia’s export amounted to $1.94 billion, increasing by 28.3% year-on-year. In turn, import made up $5.63 billion (growth – 7.4%).


    GEORGIA AND JAPAN TO HOLD NEGOTIATIONS ON INVESTMENTS’ LIBERALIZATION, FACILITATION AND PROTECTION

    According to resolution, passed recently by Georgian government, negotiations will be held in order to adopt text of agreement “On liberalization, facilitation and protection of investments between Japan and Georgia”.

    As the document notes, the negotiations will be held on the basis of law “On International Treaties of Georgia”.


    WORK ON REGULATING COMMISSION’S CAPACITY BUILDING IN WATER SUPPLY SPHERE CARRIED OUT WITH ASSISTANCE OF ADB

    National Energy and Water Supply Regulating Commission reported that working meeting was held today, summing up results of work on capacity building in the sphere of water supply.

    At the meeting, methods of monitoring of activity of water supply companies, issues of economic regulation, principles of setting of tariffs and establishment of actual losses were considered, the Commission said.


    ELECTRONIC ARCHIVING OF REAL ESTATE REGISTRATION CARDS IS COMPLETED

    National Agency of Public Register reported about countrywide completion of the project of electronic archiving of real estate registration cards. Within the project, the Agency has processed 60,869 binders from branches.


    ROADS DEPARTMENT: CONSTRUCTION OF NEW BRIDGE IN KAZBEGI MUNICIPALITY COMES TO THE END AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

    Roads Department declared that construction of bridge over dry gorge on the 113th km of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway (near Kobi village in Kazbegi municipality of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region) comes to the end ahead of schedule. Designing and construction were started in October 2016.

    CONSTRUCTION OF ANAKLIA PORT TO START AT THE END OF DECEMBER

    Construction of Anaklia deep-water port will start on December 20, Anaklia Development Consortium declared. Preconstruction preparatory works were began in 2016.


    “ISBANK GEORGIA” FINISHED Q2 WITH LOSS ALSO

    Isbank Georgia reported loss of 833,602 lari as of June 30. In the same period of 2016, the bank had profit of 1.46 million lari.


    AS OF JUNE 30, PROFIT OF “PASHA BANK GEORGIA” DECREASED BY 43.7% Y-O-Y

    Pasha Bank Georgia reported net profit of 2.49 million lari as of June 30. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has decreased by 43.7%.


    AS OF JUNE 30, PROFIT OF “AZERBAIJAN INTERNATIONAL BANK – GEORGIA” DECREASED BY 72% Y-O-Y

    Azerbaijan International Bank – Georgia reported net profit of 966,846 lari as of June 30. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has decreased by 72%.


    AS OF JUNE 30, PROFIT OF “ZIRAAT BANK GEORGIA” DECREASED BY 60.5% Y-O-Y

    Ziraat Bank Georgia reported net profit of 367,298 lari as of June 30. If compared with the same period of 2016, the volume has decreased by 60.5%.


    WITHIN “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” STATE PROGRAM, CONCRETE PLATES MANUFACTURING ENTERPRISE IS LAUNCHED IN TBILISI

    Within “Produce in Georgia” state program, Mega Production company launches production of concrete plates in Tbilisi, administration of the government reported.

    “In this company, 50 jobs are created today, investment of 10 million lari is made “, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared, while attending ceremony of the enterprise opening.

    “ACT”: NEARLY HALF OF TBILISI RESIDENTS DECLARES ABOUT DAILY GETTING TO TRAFFIC JAMS

    Referring to conducted research, Analysis and Consulting Team (ACT) declared that 44% of residents of Tbilisi complain about daily getting to traffic jams, while using different transport means.

    69% of interviewed said that they get to traffic jams once a week at least, while average length of staying in jam makes up 26 minutes, ACT reported.
