    New air communication agreement between Georgia and Israel was signed in Tbilisi yesterday.

    As Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared, “new agreement significantly simplifies regulations in civil aviation sectors of the two countries”.

    Tbilisi City Hall confirms that they are working on introduction of the so-called “ticket by the hour”, which makes available travel by a variety of transport within an hour. The system should be enacted in the municipal transport.

    From September 1, Archimedes Global Georgia, selected by tender, will provide insurance of pensioners, children aged below 6 and students in Tbilisi. In regions, new beneficiaries will be distributed among winners of the old tender.

    According to London Stock Exchange, JSC Georgian Railway has paid retained profits as dividends. The matter concerns 331.6 million lari “out of consolidated profit and total comprehensive income for prior periods” ended December 31, 2011.

    The newspaper says that on the background of flour cost growth on the world markets, price of flour is increased by 5-8 lari in Georgia – up to 38-40 lari per sack (50 kg).

    Malkhaz Dolidze, head of Tbilisi bread-baking plant #4, confirms flour price increase, but decalres that the price is maintained at the expense of profit reduction.

    According to National Bureau of Enforcement, property of LLC Burji was sold at compulsory auction for 8.76 million lari. Name of the buyer will be disclosed after the payment, which should be made within 10 days.

    Georgian Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission fined Tbilisi water company LLC Georgian Water&Power (GWP) with 5,000 lari. The mentioned decision was caused by abrogation of license terms.

  11. NATIONAL AGENCY FOR STATE PROPERTY TO BE LAUNCHED IN SEPTEMBER

    Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that legal entity of public law, National Agency for State Property will be launched in September.

    Persons, interested in buying or use of state property, will receive the Agency’s fast and competent service through one-window principle from October, the Ministry said.

    Tbilisi City Hall declared that Austrian Rezid Holding will build multi-functional complex in Saburtalo district (Aleksidze Street). The company is going to invest $40-45 million in this project.

    JSC TELASI, Tbilisi energy distributor, reported net profit of 11.8 million lari for the first half of the year. This rate is by 33.4% down year-on-year.

    Georgian Center for Intellectual Property Sakpatent reported that by January 1, there were 45,464 active trademarks, registered in Georgia through local and international procedures.

    According to the Center’s report-2011, 4,863 claims on the invention were submitted in 2011 (by 12.7% more than in 2010).

  15. ILIA UNIVERSITY: TBILISI CUSTOMERS PREFER BEER OF “NATAKHTARI” BRANDS

    According to Economic Research and Consulting Center of Ilia State University, customers in Tbilisi prefer beer, bottled by Natakhtari brewery.

    The Center had studied choice of 976 people, shopping in 14 trade outlets of Populi chain.

    According to National Bank of Georgia, in the 2nd quarter, banking credits reduced in Guria and Kvemo Kartli regions only.

    Tbilisi accounts for 78.3% of total crediting.
