   Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported about meeting with Divon Lan, product manager of Google’s Next Wave Emerging Markets unit, being with visit in Tbilisi.

   According to Lan, his visit aims to strengthen relations between his company and Georgia and upgrade cooperation to the new level.

   The article “other expenses” in Tbilisi budget-2012 makes up 141.47 million lari, accounting to 21.8% of total expenditure.

   As the newspaper mentions, volume of “other expenses” is reduced in the budget, but share of these unclear costs are significantly increased in budgets of the city’s districts.

   Wissol Group announced about opening of new supermarket Smart in Tbilisi. The new supermarket, having cafe (with free WiFi), ATM and instant payment box, is located on Wissol’s filling station on Kakheti Highway, near Lilo market.

   Out of 18 Georgian banks, 8 ones have reported retained earnings, while 9 ones – uncovered losses for the first half of the year (Liberty Bank did not published its report so far).

   According to National Bank of Georgia, total retained earnings increased as of June 30 by 55.7% year-on-year.

    GASA (Georgian Avia Service Agency), general agent of Pegasus Airlines in Georgia, declared that this Turkish air carrier will launch direct regular flights between Istanbul and Batumi on October 8. The flights will be implemented 4 times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays).

    The newspaper says that on the background of flour cost growth on the world markets, price of flour is increased by 5-8 lari in Georgia – up to 38-40 lari per sack (50 kg).

    Malkhaz Dolidze, head of Tbilisi bread-baking plant #4, confirms flour price increase, but decalres that the price is maintained at the expense of profit reduction.
