    Tengiz Chikhradze, director general of LLC Tobe (concrete and ferroconcrete producer), declared to Sarke that the company has started cooperation with Chinese Fang Li & Industrial these days.

    To note, this Chinese company, which signed a memorandum with Georgian government in September 2009, implements project on creation of free industrial zone in Kutaisi.

    Mikheil Tigishvili, president of Georgia International Holding, director of Kutaisi free industrial zone and representative of investor of the zone in Georgia, Egyptian company Fresh, declared to the newspaper that the enterprice would be fully launched in the zone in August. The plant uses 70% of its capacity by this stage.

    Edisher Mamaladze, chairman of supervision board in JSC Sakkabeli (Georgian Cable), has declared to Sarke that the company has suspended start of cable export to Armenia. To remind, export was planned to be started in the first months of 2010.

  5. GEORGIA TO START ISSUANCE OF BIOMETRIC PASSPORTS

    Georgian Agency of Civil Register reports that applications on biometric passports will be received from April 15. Validity of such passport will be 10 years, while its cost – 100 lari.

    Ukrainian air company Windrose announced plans on increase its Kiev-Kutaisi flights frequency from May. Namely, flights will be made twice a week by Embraer-195.

    Georgian Stock Exchange reported that trades on shares of JSC Kutaisi Car Plant are suspended since today.

    Stock Exchange told Sarke that the decision was caused by cancellation of contract between the company and registrar.

    Regional Development and Infrastructure Ministry reported that total cost of projects, implemented by Municipal Development Fund in 2009, amounted to 422 million lari.

    Of which, more than 42% (179 million lari) accounted for projects on water supply and sewerage rehabilitation in Poti, Kutaisi, Kobuleti, Bakuriani and Borjomi.
