Despite the state of emergency, appeared in energy supply due to the explosion of gas-mail and energy transmission line Kavkasioni, which took place at the Russian territory, the government of Georgia was able to restore the supply by the other route, but again of the Russian gas. According to David Morchiladze, the representative of Gazexport (the subsidiary of Gazprom), the source of gas supply remained the same – the Russian gas is coming in Georgia via the Azerbaijan pipeline.
JSC KAZTRANSGAZ CONFIRMS WILLINGNESS TO ACQUIRE JSC TBILGAZ

Kazakh JSC KazTransGaz has confirmed readiness to pay $12 million for assets of JSC Tbilgaz, Tbilisi gas distributor, Giorgi Gvichiani, the bankruptcy manager of JSC Tbilgaz, has said. The funds will cover the JSC creditors’ debt, Gvichiani says, noting that the amount would not even suffice to completely cover the JSC debts to primary creditor – the Large Taxpayers’ Inspection.
GEORGIAN PRESIDENT TO ATTEND INAUGURATION OF KAZAKHSTAN’S PRESIDENT

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has left today for Kazakhstan for a two-day visit to attend the inauguration ceremony of country’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev. According to the state office, the Georgian delegation is made up of Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili, National Security Council Secretary Kote Kemularia, Levan Varshalomidze, the chairman of the Ajar government and so on.
JSC KAZTRANSGAZ PLANS TO INVEST $100M IN JSC TBILGAZ

JSC KazTransGaz plans to invest $100 million in JSC Tbilgaz, Tbilisi gas distributor, Zurab Nogaideli, the Prime Minister, reported at a governmental meeting while commenting on the plans of the Kazakh party to privatize the Georgian company. The Prime Minister says a memorandum on the Tbilgaz privatization was signed on December 26; the shares will be handed over on February 15 upon the completion of the bankruptcy process of the gas distribution company.
