    THE PREMIER: ISSUE OF “REPUBLICAN” MINISTERS WILL BE DECIDED IN A CIVILIZED MANNER

    Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared that issue of Republican ministers will be decided “in a civilized manner”.

    “Cooperation will be continued with the Republican ministers; it fully depends upon their decision as well as the moment of their active engagement in the pre-election campaigning”, the Premier told journalists.


    ECONOMY MINISTER: WE NEED PUBLIC CONSIDERATION OF ANTIDUMPING LAW AND MAKING OF DECISION ONLY AFTER IT

    Dimitri Kumsishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, pointed that “There are different views concerning antidumping law”. “Personally I consider that we need public discussion, public consideration, and the decision should be made only after it”, he told journalists.

    GEORGIA-SLOVAKIA BUSINESS-FORUM HELD IN BATUMI

    Within visit of Slovak President Andrej Kiska to Georgia, Georgia-Slovakia business forum was held in Batumi hotel Hilton today. As press service of Ajara government said, 20 large Slovakian investors and leading companies of Ajara took part in the event.


    NBG: THERE WAS NO BIG DEMAND FOR OVERNIGHT LOANS IN 2015

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) points that overnight loans are the most rapid tool for banking sector in order to gain instant liquidity, but at price, exceeding market interest rate.

    High price, in its turn, pushes banks to seek for financial facilities at better price and respectively, there was no big demand for this instrument in 2015, annual report of NBG says.


    NBG: INTERBANK REPO OPERATIONS SUBSTANTIALLY ENHANCED IN 2015

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) said that interbank REPO operations were substantially enhanced on secondary securities market in 2015 in comparison with past years. This caused decline in dealing transitions, NBG noted.


    NBG: VOLUME OF TREASURY SECURITIES IS STILL SMALL IN COMPARISON WITH SIZE OF ECONOMY

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) indicates that volume of treasury securities, circulating on the market, is still small in comparison with size of economy. Portfolio of t-bills and t-bonds in circulation totaled by the end of 2015 to 1.65 billion lari, which is 5.5% to Georgia’s GDP, annual report of NBG says.

    “SAKARTVELOS BANKI” FIXED PROFIT OF 26.75M LARI IN Q1

    Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) reported net profit of 26.75 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2015, the volume has increased by 16.2%.


    “TBC BANK” FIXED PROFIT OF 36.7M LARI IN Q1

    TBC Bank reported net profit of 36.7 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2015, the volume has increased by 17.6%.


    “REPUBLIC” FIXED PROFIT OF 13.11M LARI IN Q1

    Bank Republic reported profit of 13.11 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2015, the volume has increased by 57.1%.


    “BASISBANK” FIXED PROFIT OF 7.08M LARI IN Q1

    Basisbank reported net profit of 7.08 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2015, the volume has jumped by 210.7%.


    LAND PLOT IN ZUGDIDI BROUGHT ON SALE FOR CANNERY DEVELOPMENT

    National Agency of State Property brought on termed electronic auction non-agricultural land plot, located in Tchitatskari village (Zugdidi municipality of Samegrelo region). Starting price of 249,999 square m and buildings makes up 1.5 million lari.
