    VICE-PRESIDENT OF CHINA’S STATE COUNCIL VISITS TBILISI

    Today, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has met with China’s First Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli. Chinese delegation arrived to Georgia yesterday and the visit will last until June 4.


    NEW EDUCATION MINISTER NOMINATED

    Today, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has presented Aleksandre Jejelava as candidate on post of Education and Science Minister.

    Kvirikashvili thanked former minister Tamar Sanikidze for her important efforts in the office, noting that she will remain in the team and her new mandate will be disclosed in near future.

    BUDGET OFFICE: SAMTSKHE-JAVAKHETI AND AJARA SHOWED HIGHEST RATES OF NEWLY-REGISTERED ACTIVE ENTERPRISES’ NUMBER GROWTH IN 2012-2014

    Budget Office of the Parliament reported that Samtskhe-Javakheti and Ajara showed highest rates of average growth of newly-registered active enterprises’ number in 2012-2014.

    At that, negative rate was observed for Tbilisi (-4.9%) and Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti (-1.4%), the Office said.


    BUDGET OFFICE: AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY AND FISHERY ARE PRIORITY BRANCHES FOR MAJORITY OF REGIONS

    Based on GDP data for 2011-2014, Budget Office of the Parliament reported that agriculture, hunting, forestry, fishing and fishery are priority branches for most part of regions. Namely, such situation is observed in Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Guria, Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti, Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.


    NBG: 10 COMMERCIAL BANKS HELD DEPOSIT CERTIFICATES IN 2015

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that volume of deposit certificates in circulation has reduced during 2015 from 505 million lari to 360 million lari. As of December 31, these certificates were held by 10 commercial banks, NBG noted.


    NBG: TOTAL LOSS RELATED TO OPERATIONAL RISK MADE UP 16.5M LARI IN 2015

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that total loss, related to operational risk, amounted in 2015 to 16.5 million lari. During the reporting year, 11,347 cases of operational loss were fixed.


    TBILISI HOSTS 9TH INTERNATIONAL WINE AND SPIRITS FAIR

    The 9th International Wine and Spirits Fair “WinExpo Georgia 2016” opened in Tbilisi exhibition center ExpoGeorgia today. The event, supported by Agriculture Ministry’s National Wine Agency, will last until June 5.

    “VTB BANK GEORGIA” REPORTED PROFIT OF 3.49M LARI IN Q1

    VTB Bank Georgia reported net profit of 3.49 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2015, the volume has jumped by 170.7%.


    “CARTU” REPORTED PROFIT OF 6.34M LARI IN Q1

    Bank Cartu reported net profit of 6.34 million lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2015, the volume has dropped by 45%.


    “PROGRESS BANK” FIXED LOSS IN Q1

    Progress Bank reported loss of 412,467 lari for the 1st quarter. In the same period of last year, the bank had net profit of 221,581 lari.


    “FINCA BANK” FIXED PROFIT OF 357,578 LARI IN Q1

    FINCA Bank reported net profit of 357,578 lari for the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2015, the volume has increased by 51.4%.
