    Chinese company Xinjiang Hualing Industry & Trade (Group) Co. Ltd (new owner of Basisbank) starts implementation of project on free zone creation on Tbilisi Sea.

    Chinese are going to invest $350 million in the project, envisaging development of entertainment objects, residential areas, hotels and necessary infrastructure.

  2. 10.35M T OF CRUDE OIL EXPORTED TROUGH BTC IN 6 MONTHS

    SOCAR, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, reported that export of 10.35 million t of crude oil made within the first half of 2012 through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. If compared with the same period of last year, decline of 39.5% is fixed.

    Lasha Kalandadze, chairman of Civil Cases Chamber of Tbilisi Court of Appeals, declares in an interview with the newspaper that mandatory court mediation will be launched in test mode in November, initially in Tbilisi. Mediators will conduct one session a week.

    Mobile operator Geocell announced about upgraded service Geocell-Connect, which provides faster mobile Internet – up to 21 Mbps.

    The company stressed that the speed is increased 4-5 times.

    Italian air carrier Alitalia launched today flights between Rome and Tbilisi.

    According to Georgian Civil Aviation Agency, the flights will be implemented by A320 planes 2 times a week: Rome-Tbilisi – on Mondays and Saturdays, while Tbilisi-Rome – on Tuesdays and Sundays.

    Local payment system UniPay announced Unifest, service of on-line shopping, which will be launched for users of UniPay electronic wallet on July 4.

    At the auction, announced by Tbilisi City Hall, LLC Poultry Georgia (former Koda) has purchased 37 booths, which price varied within 1,050-3,000 lari.

    At this stage, company runs 24 booths in Tbilisi, mainly in the city outskirts, planning to add 13 ones in the end of August.

  14. “ATA AIRLINES” STARTED FLIGHTS TO BATUMI

    Iranian company ATA Airlines made the first flight to Batumi today, bringing 75 tourists to Ajara resorts.

    TAV Georgia, operator of Batumi international airport, said that ATA Airlines will perform direct summer flights to Batumi from Tehran on Mondays and Thursdays, while from Tabriz – on Thursdays.

  15. “PEGASUS” TO INCREASE FLIGHT FREQUENCY FROM AUTUMN

    Pegasus will add the second flight on Istanbul-Tbilisi route from October 1, said Georgian Avia Service Agency (GASA), general trade representation of this Turkish air company in Georgia.

    Thus, the frequency will make up 2 daily flights in workdays of the week, being caused by big demand for flights, the Agency noted.

    Georgian Airways (AirZena) announced 30% discount on Tbilisi-Moscow-Tbilisi and Batumi-Moscow-Batumi flights, being available for passengers below 27 and above 60.

    Regular price of ticket for the company’s Tbilisi-Moscow-Tbilisi flight is around 370 EUR, while one for Batumi-Moscow-Batumi costs by 5-10 EUR less.
