INFLATION IN MAY MADE UP 2.1%
Sakstat reported that annual inflation in May made up 2.1%. In April, the rate was 3.2%.
ENTERPRISES’ TURNOVER IN Q1 INCREASED BY 15.4% Y-O-Y, WHILE OUTPUT – BY 15%
Sakstat reported that enterprises’ total turnover for the 1st quarter grew by 15% year-on-year and made up 12.7 billion lari.
Distribution of turnover according to companies’ size was as follow: large enterprises – 82.8%, medium-sized companies – 7.6% and small ones – 9.7%.
TRADE AND REPAIR OF CARS AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS ACCOUNTED IN Q1 FOR 46.9% OF TOTAL TURNOVER AND 17.2% OF TOTAL OUTPUT
Sakstat reported that turnover of trade and repair of cars, household goods and articles of personal consumption amounted in the 1st quarter to 5.98 billion lari, accounting thus for 46.9% of enterprises’ total turnover (12.7 billion lari). If compared with the same period of 2015, turnover in the mentioned sector has increased by 6.7%.
NUMBER OF ENTERPRISES’ EMPLOYEES INCREASED IN Q1 BY 5.9% Y-O-Y
Sakstat reported that Georgian enterprises employed in total 577,600 persons in the 1st quarter. This number has increased by 5.9% year-on-year.
CONSTRUCTION OS “KHORGA” SUBSTATION COMPLETED
Ceremony, marking completion of construction of 220/110-KV substation Khorga, was held recently in Akhalsopeli village (Khobi municipality of Samegrelo region).
Georgian State Electrosystem had conducted construction of the object since July 2015, within “Regional Electricity Transmission” project.
REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE MINISTRY: CONSTRUCTION OF SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT IN ANAKLIA IS UNDERWAY
Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported about construction of sewage treatment plant, which is conducted by Georgian United Water Supply Company in Anaklia for the first time.
The project with cost, exceeding 20 million lari, is implemented by financial support of Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Ministry said.
THE GOVERNMENT: “CNFA” CONTINUES ACTIVITY IN GEORGIA
Administration of the government reported that American non-commercial organization Citizens’ Network for Foreign Affairs (CNFA) continues operation in Georgia. CNFA has implemented 8 projects in the country, of which 3 ones are still ongoing.
40-MEMBER KAZAKH DELEGATION ATTEND KAZAKHSTAN-GEORGIA BUSINESS FORUM
Today, Tbilisi hosted Kazakhstan-Georgia business forum, being attended by 40-member Kazakh delegation. As Georgia’s Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry said, investment projects in agriculture, tourism, real estate, logistics, retail trade and other spheres of economic were presented within the event.
“TAV GEORGIA”: “SCAT AIRLINES” MADE ITS FIRST FLIGHT TO BATUMI
TAV Georgia, operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports, reported that Kazakh air company SCAT Airlines has performed today its first flight Aktau-Batumi-Aktau. Flights on this route will be conducted twice a week (on Friday and Sunday) by Boeing-737.
“SOCAR GEORGIA GAS”: GAS DISTRIBUTION NETWORK OF 1,600 KM AT LEAST WILL BE BUILT UNTIL END OF THE YEAR
SOCAR Georgia Gas, gas distributor in regions, declared that gas distribution network of 1,600 km at least will be built until end of the year, enabling connection to gas network for more than 40,000 potential consumers.
Since 2009, gas distribution network of 5,366 km was built, allowing gas installation to 209,136 consumers, the company said, not indicating cost of works.
DISTILLERY TO BE LAUNCHED IN AGARA
LLC Grado is building distilling plant in Agara (Kareli municipality of Shida Kartli region), investing $4 million for that end, reported consulting company PRCG (contractor of the municipal administration). Construction works have been already finished and process of machinery mounting is underway.
