    In 2011, capital expenditures on Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline made up $40.5 million. The pipeline operator British Petroleum, which declared about these figures, stressed that they are by 38.5% less than forecasted ones ($65.9 million).

    The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development informed that private individual Ivane Martiashvili bought LLC Tbilisi Central Hospital (Ljubljana Str. 5). Due to competition, the price was increased from 950,000 lari up to 1.37 million lari.

  9. EPI: GEORGIA HAS INFRASTRUCTURE NECESSARY FOR MICE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT, BUT IT IS INSUFFICIENT

    According to USAID-funded Economic Prosperity Initiative, Georgia has infrastructure, necessary for development of MICE tourism (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), but it is insufficient.

    Despite holding of 10-15 exhibitions every year in Georgia, it is not sufficient, EPI noted, pointing that the significant problem is existence of only one exhibition center (Tbilisi’s ExpoGeorgia) in the country.

The Ministry declared the mentioned after meeting of Georgia’s delegation with South Korea’s Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and Federation of Korean Industries.

    The newspaper reports that selling price of electricity, produced by KhramHES-1, will be increased from 2.3 tetri/kWh to 8.2 tetri/kWh through 2014-2018, while cost of KhramHES-2 – from 3.5 tetri/kWh to 9.2 tetri/kWh.

    Tariff increase is envisaged by agreement, signed with InterRAO EES (holder of these hydroelectric stations and Tbilisi energy distributor TELASI) in April of the previous year.

    LLC Tbilisi Logistics Center is going to start in near future construction of refrigerator facilities in Gachiani (near Rustavi, Kvemo Kartli region).

    The company’s owner Georgian Partnership Fund told Sarke that construction will take several months, while investments’ volume to make up $6 million.

    Customers, damaged because of construction company Center Point, held a rally yesterday.  Up to 100 people, gathered in front of the Parliament, demanded their apartments without any additional fee.

    As participants of the action declare, company Dexus (manages assets of Center Point) requires additional payment of 30% of already paid sum.  The matter concerns payment of VAT and additional $100 per 1 square m.
