    According to Giovanni Simonini, regional manager of Italian air carrier Alitalia, flights between Rome and Tbilisi will start on July 3 by Airbus-320 jet.

    At the starting stage, the company is going to perform 2 flights a week (Tuesday and Sunday), but the frequency will be increased in case of demand, Simonini said at the press conference yesterday.

    Competition and State Procurements Agency informed that insurance company Tao was banned to take part in the state tenders for 1 year.

    The Agency placed the company in “black list” due to insufficient provision of insurance and pension service to LLC Tbilisi Transport Company.

    Greek air company Aegean Airlines performed the first Athens-Tbilisi-Athens flight today.

    As Tbilisi office of the company told Sarke, occupancy rate for the first flight made up 70%.

    Football club Dynamo acquired sporting complex (tennis courts) of LLC GT+, subsidiary of VTB Bank Georgia. GT+ told Sarke that selling agreement was signed in April, but refrained to name cost of the deal.

  16. TBILISI RAIL-WELDING PLANT INTENDS TO PARTICIPATE IN TBILISI BYPASS RAILWAY PROJECT

    Tbilisi rail-welding plant hopes to provide service for the project on Tbilisi bypass railway construction. For that end, the plant is going to take part in appropriate tender, in case it will be announced by Georgian Railway.

    Ilia State University’s Center for Economic Studies and Consulting said that average rates for gold-pawned loans make up 7.08% in private pawnshops, 3.4% in micro-financial organizations and 3.25% – in commercial banks.

    The Center conducted study on May 20-20, which applied to 6 banks, 5 micro-financial organizations and 12 private pawnshops, located in various districts of Tbilisi.

  18. REGULATORY COMMISSION FINED “GLOBAL CONTACT CONSULTING”

    National Communication Commission imposed fine of 5,000 lari to LLC Global Contact Consulting.

    As the Commission said, on May 15 it had received application of LLC RealComm, which claimed problems with usage of licensed radio-frequency band.

  19. TBILISI BRANCH OF TURKISH “ZIRAAT BANK” STARTED ISSUANCE OF DEBET CARDS

    Tbilisi branch of Turkish Ziraat Bank has started issuance of local debet cards. As the branch told Sarke, these cards may be used in Georgia only, while cash withdrawal is available through ATMs of Ziraat Bank and TBC Bank only.

  20. CONTAINER TERMINAL IN POTI TO START OPERATION SOON

    Director general of LLC Georgian Railway Transcontainer (subsidiary of JSC Georgian Railway) Mirza Dolidze told Sarke that container terminal in Poti to start operation soon. All main works are already completed and only finishing is underway, which should be completed in next few days, he said.
