    Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure declared that 1.4 billion lari will be spent on implementation of infrastructural projects.

    The Minister Ramaz Nikolaishvili reminded at the news briefing today that the Ministry had spent in this direction 921 million lari in 2010, while 812 million lari – in 2009.

  2. PURCHASING OF RAILWAY TICKETS IS AVAILABLE VIA “UNIPAY”

    LLC Georgian Railway reported that purchase of railway tickets became available through system of unified payments UniPay. For that end, customers should apply to UniPay’s service-centers, which operate in round-the-clock regime.

  3. “SAKARTVELOS BANKI” ACQUIRED 3 OBJECTS IN TBILISI’S CENTER FOR 6.73M LARI

    Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) acquired for 6.73 million lari 3 objects, located in the center of Tbilisi, on online auction of the Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry, held yesterday.

    The bank will pay 3.6 million lari for buildings with land plot of 6,201 square m, located on Kazbegi Ave. 25, instead of starting price of 3.55 million lari.

    Referring to unofficial information, the newspaper reports that car owners may be fined with 15 lari for leaving car in front of blocks of flat.

    However, Tbilisi City Hall flatly denies the information and stresses that it even does not consider such measures.

    Revenue Service has already launched in Tbilisi test project on transition to cash registers, which are equipped with GPRS module. Implementation of this project in regions will start from September.

    LLC Alpha-Com, holder of Tbilisi broadcasting tower as well as of 35 broadcasting towers in regions, was handed over to LLC Golden Com with 4-year management right.

    Vasil Bolashvili, the founder of LLC Golden Com, holds hotels Pirosmani and Golden Palace, on which address in Mtskheta Golden Com is registered.

  7. RIGHT FOR BROADCASTING TOWER’S MANAGEMENT WAS HANDED OVER TO LLC “GOLDEN COM”

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported today that 4-year management right on state-owned LLC Alpha-Com (owner of Tbilisi broadcasting tower) was handed over to LLC Golden Com, winner of yesterday’s auction. The company, being the single participant of the auction, will have to pay 110,000 lari, against of starting price of 100,000 lari.

  8. “PROCREDIT BANK” TO REPLACE ATMS

    ProCredit Bank announced tender on installation of new ATMs. The bank is going to install 75 new ATMs in Tbilisi and regions in 2011-2013.

    According to tender’s terms, winner company should deinstall the bank’s 89 old ATMs (of BANQIT type) and install instead new ones (NCR SelfServ 25 (6625), Diebold Opteva 562, Talaris, WincorNixdorf 2050 or compatible models).

  9. NUMBER OF STATE ASSISTANCE’S BENEFICIARIES IS DECREASED BY 5.6%

    Sakstat reports that in 2010 the poor’s single database had records on 535,619 families (growth – 1.18% comparing to 2009). The same time, number of state assistance’s beneficiary families made up 144,877 (decline – 5.6%).

  12. ANOTHER “SMART” SUPERMARKET LAUNCHED IN TBILISI

    Oil-products’ distributor JSC Wissol Georgia reported that another supermarket of its subsidiary chain Smart was launched in Tbilisi district Isani-Samgori.

    The mall occupies 2,000 square m and includes, besides supermarket, other trade facilities as well (bakery, drug store, etc.).

  13. TBILISI BROADCASTING TOWER GIVEN IN MANAGEMENT TO UNDISCLOSED COMPANY

    Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry reported that as of result of today’s auction, state-owned LLC Alpha-Com (Tbilisi broadcasting tower) was given in 4-year management for 110,000 lari. The winner of the auction (being its single participant) is not disclosed so far.

  14. VOLUME OF CREDITS, ISSUED IN TBILISI, IS INCREASED BY 8.2% IN Q2

    National Bank of Georgia reported that in terms of loans’ distribution among Georgian regions, Tbilisi accounted for 79.8% of total credits issued as of July 1.

    Namely, volume of credits, issued in Tbilisi, amounted in the reporting period to 5.39 billion lari.

    The famous footballer Kakha Kaladze has managed to pay for land area, acquired for construction of multi-functional complex in Tbilisi, only $18.1 million instead of required $38.2 million.

    Investment of $700 million has to be made in Arsenal City project by 2016, but Kaladze points that the project was suspended due to Georgian-Russia war of 2008.

  17. REVENUES OF MARKETS AMOUNTED TO 90.5M LARI IN 2010

    According to Sakstat, markets of the country had revenue of 90.5 million lari in 2010. Out of total, traders’ one-time fees amounted to 30.4 million lari (33.6%), while fee for trading desk rent made up 45.2 million lari (49.9%).

  18. 5 CITIES ACCOUNT FOR 82% OF TOTAL FIXED COMMUNICATIONS’ SUBSCRIBERS

    According to National Communication Commission’s report for 2010, fixed wired communication network is mainly developed in 5 large cities of the country – Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Batumi and Poti. These cities account for 82% of total subscribers of Georgia’s wired networks.
