    The government considered issue of direct selling of 2 state-owned hospitals at the meeting today. The matter concerns Kurashvili children’s clinical hospital #1 and maternity house #2, both located in Tbilisi.

    Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri declared that the government considers legislative amendments, connected to privatization issues.

    These amendments should allow placement of the state-owned shares of large companies on international exchanges (London, New York, Warsaw, etc.), Gilauri said at the government meeting today.

    IDPs, living in hotel Apkhazeti, located on Vazha Pshavela Avenue in Tbilisi, have received notifications of eviction on August 5. About 300 families, expelled from Tskhinvali region, have been living in the hotel from 1992.

    Geno Malazonia, director general of JSC EnergyInvest, appealed to Tbilisi City Court requesting to start proceeding on insolvency of the company.

    As of July, creditor’s claims towards JSC EnergyInvest total to 75.2 million lari.

  6. Rezonansi: “TBILISI IS LEADER IN THE REGION IN TERMS OF REALTY HIGH PRICE”

    The newspaper reports that cost of 1 square m in new house in the center of Baku amounts to $1,068, in Yerevan – $1,175 while in Tbilisi – $1,000-1,700.

    Prices in Baku are increased by 2-3% comparing to the same period of the previous year, real estate cost is decreased in Yerevan, while in Tbilisi prices are not changed, the newspaper notes.

  7. LARGE TAXPAYERS CAN USE INTEREST-FREE INSTALLMENT FOR PURCHASING GPRS-EQUIPPED CASH REGISTERS

    According to Georgian Finance Ministry, there are up to 700 large taxpayers registered in the country, which should purchase by the end of the year new, GPRS-equipped cash registers. Cost of each cash register makes up 290 lari, while monthly service fee – 5 lari.

  9. TRADE WITH SHARES OF JSC “LAGUNA VERE” SUSPENDED

    Georgian Stock Exchange reported that trade with shares of JSC Laguna Vere (swimming pool in the center of Tbilisi) is suspended since today.

    The Exchange told Sarke that the decision was caused by agreement termination between the JSC and its registrar company, LLC Registrar.

  10. “PROCREDIT BANK” TO OPEN BRANCH IN SAMTREDIA

    ProCredit Bank announced intention to launch branch in Samtredia (Imereti region), where it is not represented so far.

    The branch will be focused on small and middle-sized business support and especially – on agriculture development, the bank said.

    According to National Communication Commission, Georgians use mainly wired networks for internet access, in particular, DSL and fiber-optical technologies.

    As of end of 2010, there were 167,470 users of DSL connection (growth since the 1st quarter – 21.5%), which account for 55.8% of total users of fixed internet in Georgia.

  16. 1.4B LARI TO BE SPENT ON INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

    Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure declared that 1.4 billion lari will be spent on implementation of infrastructural projects.

    The Minister Ramaz Nikolaishvili reminded at the news briefing today that the Ministry had spent in this direction 921 million lari in 2010, while 812 million lari – in 2009.

  17. PURCHASING OF RAILWAY TICKETS IS AVAILABLE VIA “UNIPAY”

    LLC Georgian Railway reported that purchase of railway tickets became available through system of unified payments UniPay. For that end, customers should apply to UniPay’s service-centers, which operate in round-the-clock regime.

  18. “SAKARTVELOS BANKI” ACQUIRED 3 OBJECTS IN TBILISI’S CENTER FOR 6.73M LARI

    Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia) acquired for 6.73 million lari 3 objects, located in the center of Tbilisi, on online auction of the Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry, held yesterday.

    The bank will pay 3.6 million lari for buildings with land plot of 6,201 square m, located on Kazbegi Ave. 25, instead of starting price of 3.55 million lari.

  19. Rezonansi: “CITY HALL IS GOING TO BAN CARS’ STOP IN FRONT OF BLOCKS OF FLAT”

    Referring to unofficial information, the newspaper reports that car owners may be fined with 15 lari for leaving car in front of blocks of flat.

    However, Tbilisi City Hall flatly denies the information and stresses that it even does not consider such measures.

    Revenue Service has already launched in Tbilisi test project on transition to cash registers, which are equipped with GPRS module. Implementation of this project in regions will start from September.
