    Georgian State Electro System (GSES) has reported on completion of rehabilitation of 220-KV substation Navtlugi-220. Reconstruction works started in January 2009 and cost more than 7 million lari.

  2. REALTY TRANSACTIONS INCREASED IN NUMBER BY 25.8% IN 2011

    The Georgian government reported that 510,000 transactions were fixed on realty market in 2011, exceeding by 25.8% showing of 2010.

    Number of deals on primary market made up 87,000 (growth – 11.7%), while on secondary market – 424,000 (growth – 29.2%).

    German manager will join management team of Tbilisi’s New Hospital, member of PSP Group.

    According to PSP Group, New Hospital has signed today cooperation memorandum with German director general of the clinic Rainer Rasch.

    Jaba Samushia, deputy chairman of Tbilisi City Council and member of opposition Christian-Democrats, comments in an interview with newspaper on situation with passenger transportation by mini-buses, the so-called “marshrutkas”, in Tbilisi.

    As Samushia declares, company-operator Tbilisi Mini-Bus, in contradiction with the tender conditions, has not brought “even the half of the required number of new mini-buses”.

    According to City Hall, 10 construction companies joined the third stage of the project “The New Life to Old Tbilisi”, being added to those 22 companies, which had joined on the first and second stages. Joining the third stage is available until the end of April.

    LLC Business Care Corporation, manager of LLC Sky Georgia’s rehabilitation, announced that the process is near to end. To remind, rehabilitation of this Georgian airline was started in July 2010.

  7. “VTB BANK GEORGIA” PLANS TO SELL HEAD OFFICE

    VTB Bank Georgia plans to sell its former head office in Tbilisi (Uznadze Str. 37).

    As the bank’s director for retail business Valerian Gabunia told Sarke, assessment of assets is underway at this stage, which should be completed in near future.

    Former building of the Justice Ministry, locating on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, was acquired for 700,000 lari by company Rustaveli Property, registered, as the newspaper says, on January 13 (in fact, it was registered on August 3 of 2011, while on January 13 extract of Business Register was prepared).

    Owner of the company is Mindia Gadaev, former head of Revenue Service, who worked then in company Loyal Estate.

  9. PROPERTY OF “DIGITAL ELECTRONICS” IS AUCTIONED FOR 901,703 LARI

    Bankruptcy manager of LLC Digital Electronics has announced auction on property of the company, setting starting price at 901,703 lari.

    Real estate includes 3 objects in Tbilisi (2 – in Didi Digomi district and 1 – on Vazha Pshavela Avenue) with total area of 288 square m.

  10. INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE TO BE OPENED ON BASE OF TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

    Education and Science Ministry reported that International School of Design and Architecture will be opened in Tbilisi. The School, created on the base of Technical University, will be the first in Caucasus.

  11. “VTB BANK GEORGIA” OPENED NEW BRANCH IN TBILISI

    VTB Bank Georgia opened today its already second new branch in this year, which is located in Tbilisi (Tsereteli Ave. 67).

    As the bank’s retail business director Valerian Gabunia has told Sarke, more 6 branches are planned to open this year both in Tbilisi and in regions, where VTB Bank Georgia is already represented (Batumi, Kutaisi).

  12. OIL TRANSIT VIA GEORGIA DECLINED BY 9.5% IN 2011

    Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation has reported that 38.36 million t of crude oil was transported by oil pipelines via Georgian territory in 2011. The figure is decreased by 9.5% if compared with 2010.

  13. Rezonansi: “9-LARI INSURANCE WILL CAUSE MANY PROBLEMS ON THE MARKET”

    According to the newspaper, 963,440 people have applied to the state health insurance, including 843,440 being insured by Social Service Agency. Value of insurance voucher is 11 lari, so 168.54 million lari is envisaged in the budget for this purpose.

    LLC Georgian Railway announced start of project “For One Day to Georgian Resorts”, which envisages one-day trip to resort cities. Implementation of the mentioned project became available due to increased speed of trains’ traffic, the LLC marked.

  15. PASSENGER TRAINS INCREASE SPEED ON CENTRAL RAILWAY

    LLC Georgian Railway has announced that from today passenger trains will increase speed while moving on central railway.

    In particular, highest speed will be 120 km/h, which enables passengers to travel from Tbilisi to Batumi for 5 hours and 15 minutes, i.e. by 25 minutes less.

  16. TBILISI CITY HALL FINED MINI BUS COMPANIES

    Tbilisi City Hall reported that fines were imposed on mini bus (route taxi) companies due to violation of tender terms. In order to bring remained number of new mini buses, the companies were given an additional time (not specified), as it is envisaged by law, the City Hall said.

    Investment bank BG Capital reported that its local blue chip index BGBC made up 444.64 (in lari) as of December 31, 2011. Since start of the year, the index declined by 44.6%.

    Today, household appliances manufacturer company Bosch has opened regional office in Caucasus. The company plans to open warehouse as well, which should serve the whole region.
