   According to Sakartvelos Banki (Bank of Georgia), as of the first half of 2011, its personal banking service SOLO had 3,094 clients. The number has increased by 15.3% (i.e. by 411 clients) from the start of year.

2. ALTERNATIVE AUDIT TO BE AVAILABLE FOR ENTERPRISES WITH TURNOVER BELOW 10,000 LARI ALSO

   Revenue Service of the Finance Ministry declared that enterprises with small turnover (i.e. below 100,000 lari a year) will be involved in “Alternative Audit” project also. For the moment, 20 such enterprises and up to 20 auditors are selected for participation in the project in Tbilisi.

3. “ALDAGI BCI” STARTED SERVICE-CENTER IN KUTAISI

   After launching regional service-centers in Batumi and Poti, insurance company Aldagi BCI has started outlet in Kutaisi also. The office, located on Pushkin Str. 8, will serve clients daily, except Sundays.

   According to National Communication Commission’s report for 2010, fixed wired communication network is mainly developed in 5 large cities of the country – Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Batumi and Poti. These cities account for 82% of total subscribers of Georgia’s wired networks.

6. “SILK TV” IS LAUNCHED IN 3 MORE CITIES

   Fixed communications operator SilkNet announced that its IP broadcasting service Silk TV is available in 3 more cities of the country since today. Terms for customers of Rustavi, Gori and Khashuri are the same as for users in Batumi and Kutaisi, the company said.

   According to National Communication Commission, study of wholesale fixed communications market revealed several companies, having significant market power. The study was conducted in two segments – fixed wired communications and fixed wireless communications.

8. KFW ALLOTS 20M EUR FOR ARRANGEMENT OF LANDFILL IN KUTAISI

   Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure reported that agreement, envisaging allotment of 20 million EUR to Kutaisi City Hall, will be signed between the City Hall and German Development Bank (KfW). The funds will be used for shutting down the old landfill of Kutaisi and arranging the new one.

9. “ALPHA” INSURED FOOTBALLERS OF KUTAISI’S “TORPEDO”

13. EIB-FUNDED REHABILITATION OF WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE STARTED IN 3 CITIES

    According to Regional Development and Infrastructure Ministry, rehabilitation of water supply and sewerage systems has been started in 3 cities. The project with cost of 14 million lari is funded by European Investment bank (EIB).

14. KUTAISI AIRPORT TO BE HANDED TO LLC “GEORGIAN AIRPORT ASSOCIATION” FOR MANAGEMENT

    Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry has informed that the government decided not to alienate Kutaisi (Kopitnari) airport, transferring it instead to LLC Georgian Airport Association for management.

    By this time, the LLC unites airports of Tbilisi and Mestia (highland region Zemo Svaneti).

16. “LAGI” ACQUIRED CONTROLLING SHARE OF “KUTAISI LITHOPONE PLANT”

    Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry reported that the state-owned share of 51% in JSC Kutaisi Lithopone Plant has been sold for 1.65 million lari. Starting price of 608,089 ordinary shares was 1.6 million lari.

    According to the Control Chamber’s report-2010, budgetary assignations of the Chamber were defined by 12.6 million lari, while factual allocation made up 12.3 million lari.

    Of which, about 3 million lari was spent for construction of new head office of the Chamber in Kutaisi.

19. REVENUE FROM SELLING OF INVESTMENT AND NUMISMATIC COINS MADE UP 1.3M LARI

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that in 2010, revenue from selling of collection, investment and numismatic coins (available through NBG’s Money Museum in Tbilisi and Cash Center in Kutaisi) made up 1.3 million lari. The figure is almost doubled year-on-year.
