    Georgian Partnership Fund said that China Nuclear Industry 23rd Construction Co. Ltd is interested to make investments in renewable energy projects.

    At the meeting, held in the Fund, Chinese company presented concrete investment offers and expressed desire to participate in joint projects, the Fund said.

  2. PARTNERSHIP FUND DISCUSSED COOPERATION WITH SACE

    Georgian Partnership Fund reported about meeting, held with representatives of Italian state-run export credit agency SACE. According to the Fund, the parties discussed development of cooperation, as well as ways of boosting cooperation between private businesses of the two countries.

    The government decided to exempt Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA, UAE) and its Georgian subsidiary LLC RAKIA Georgia Free Industrial Zone from forfeit, imposed after contracts, signed in 2010-2011.

    In exchange, stake of 85% in RAKIA Georgia Free Industrial Zone will be handed over to the state.

    According to the preliminary conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission, October 8 parliamentary elections in Georgia were “competitive, well-administered and fundamental freedoms were generally respected”.

    Mamuka Bakhtadze, director general of Georgian Railway, says that construction of the remained part of Tbilisi bypass railway will cost about $70 million, the newspaper reports, referring to TV program Business-Contract of Pirveli broadcaster.

    Bakhtadze explains that changes, made in design of the project, may cause increase of the budget.

  18. NEW RUNWAY OPENED IN AMBROLAURI

    New runway was opened today in Ambrolauri (Racha region). As Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry said, the new runway, having length of 1,100 m and width of 3 m, will allow Ambrolauri airfield to receive without limitations small planes, such as Czech L-410 aircrafts (19 passengers).

    Georgian Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission left unconsidered tariff applications of JSC KhramHES-1 and JSC KhramHES-2, submitted in August.

  20. CONSTRUCTION OF WIND POWER PLANT BROUGHT TO END

    Opening ceremony of Georgia’s first wind power plant Kartli was held today in Gori district (Shida Kartli region). The works were started in March.
