    The Parliament discusses at the extraordinary session today approval of the updated composition of the Cabinet (at the time of the news preparation, debates were not completed yet).

    To remind, the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili named updated composition of the government on May 1, while the President Giorgi Margvelashvili presented it to the Parliament on May 6.

    Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared that Austrian company Kohl&Partners has already completed zoning and study of Tskaltubo spa resort (Imereti region).

    “Now, together with Partnership Fund, we conduct international certification of the resort, of its water, in cooperation with French company Vichy”, Kvirikashvili pointed.

    Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared that development of Code of Spatial Arrangement and Construction is already completed, while work on scheme of spatial arrangement is being conducted.

    The interagency group is created, which works on plan of spatial development of the country, and the first phase of bidding in this direction is completed, Kvirikashvili noted.

    Non-governmental organization Position claims that ministers in the government of National Movement often got higher bonuses and salary markups, than members of the current cabinet.

    The organization points that during Georgia-Russia war of 2008, bonus of then Finance Minister Nika Gilauri reached 71,320 lari, while his annual income made up 113,800 lari.

    Business ombudsman Giorgi Gakharia declared that intervention of high-rank officials in activities of private companies is categorically excluded.

    “Free business environment and inviolability of business is one of the biggest achievements of the new government and putting it in doubt is absolutely inadmissible for us”, Gakharia pointed in the statement, released today in response to charges of owners of company MN Georgia.

  13. REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE MINISTRY: REPAIR WORKS IN RESIDENCE ON ATONELI STREET ARE COMPLETED

    Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure David Shavliashvili declared that repair works in residence on Atoneli Street in Tbilisi are completed.

    The building is put in operation and will be transferred to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Shavliashvili said at the government meeting today.

    According to TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, special representative of Georgian Prime Minister in relationships with Russia and his consultant received since November 2012 to the present the payment of 251,681 lari.

    In particular, 187,681 lari was paid to special representative Zurab Abashidze, and 64,000 lari – to his consultant Giorgi Kajaia.

    While speaking today in live show Business Contact of broadcasting company Maestro, executive director of Co-investment Fund Giorgi Bachiashvili declared that investments of up to $70 million were made in tourism and real estate.

    In particular, the Fund purchased building of former department store Tbilisi, located on Rustaveli Avenue in the very center of the capital, from Dutch investment company Doryphore Investment, Bachiashvili specified.
