   Georgian Water&Power (GWP, Tbilisi company of water supply and sewerage) has reported that investment in rehabilitation of water and sewerage to reach 10 million lari this year.

   Rehabilitation works, which started in July, are expected to complete in the first half of November.

   Kazakh businessmen are interested in import of own production to Georgia, Tatiana Zhdanova, vice-president of Kazakh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has declared at Georgian-Kazakh business-forum, which held in Tbilisi today.

   Kazakh delegation included representatives of about 20 companies.

3. INVESTMENTS IN ENTERPRISES’ FIXED ASSETS INCREASED BY 11.3% IN 2010

   According to Sakstat, enterprises’ investments in fixed assets totaled to 2.3 billion lari in 2010. This volume is increased by 11.3% year-on-year.

5. “TECHNOBOOM” AND “LIBERTY BANK” OFFERED INTEREST-FREE INSTALLMENT TO PENSIONERS

   Household appliances distributor TechnoBoom and Liberty Bank announced joint action for pensioners, envisaging interest-free installment for appliances’ purchase.

   According to TechnoBoom, eligible customers should have fixed income or use Liberty Bank’s money remittances system.

6. “GEORGIAN AIRWAYS” TO UPGRADE AIRCRAFT FLEET

   Georgian Airways declared about intention to acquire Boeing 737 (new generation) and Boeing 787 (so-called Dream Liner). Head of supervisory board of the Georgian air company Tamaz Gaiashvili and Boeing’s vice-president for Middle East and Africa sales Marty Bentrott have signed agreement in Tbilisi today.

   Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry has reported that group of managers of Turkish textile companies, united in Turkish Clothing Manufacturers Association, has arrived in Georgia today.

   Turkish side is represented by companies (such as Koton, Seleksiyon Tekstil, Negreti Tekstil, Ogretmen Corap (PENTI), STFA), which are contractors of such global trademarks as Roberto Cavalli, Scervino, Zara, Mango, GAP, H&M.

10. TURKISH “PEGASUS” MAY INCREASE NUMBER OF FLIGHTS TO GEORGIA

    Pegasus may increase number of flights to Georgia, general trade representative of this Turkish air carrier in Georgia Georgian Avia Service Agency (GASA) has declared to Sarke. The demand for flights is so high that we have started active work in this direction with the air company, GASA noted.

    44% declare that politicians do not speak enough on job creation, 62% note that not enough attention is paid to the price growth.

14. “PSP INSURANCE” PROVIDES SERVICE TO “SILKNET” STAFF

    Telecommunication company SilkNet announced that health insurance of its employees is being provided by PSP Insurance.

    According to SilkNet, insurance company was selected due to offered terms, in particular – flexible registration form and existence of provider clinics in all regions of the country.

15. EXPERTS DISCUSS DEVELOPMENT OF BAKU-TBILISI-BATUMI/TRABZON HIGHWAY

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development has reported that expert group holds the meeting in Batumi, discussing development of Baku-Tbilisi-Batumi/Trabzon highway and supporting infrastructure.

    Development of supporting infrastructure envisages upgrade of customs checkpoints and their equipment with modern technologies; as well as expansion of filling stations, car parkings and hotels’ network, the Ministry noted.

    LLC Geo-Plaza, winner of the auction on Tbilisi Rail-Welding Plant privatization, has paid own offer of 3.35 million lari, Economy and Sustainable Ministry has told Sarke. Starting price on the auction, held in the end of August, made up 3.3 million lari.

20. NATIONAL COMMUNICATION COMMISSION FINED “LIBERTY BANK” WITH 5,000 LARI.

    National Communication Commission imposed fine of 5,000 lari on Liberty Bank. According to the Commission, Liberty Bank conducted unauthorized use of radio frequency ranges 161.15 mHz and 158.00 mHz.
