    Georgian Stock Exchange reported that 257 OTC deals were fixed in the 2nd quarter, resulting in selling of 1.1 million shares with total cost of 2.5 million lari.

    Transactions number is increased by 69.1% quarter-on-quarter, total cost of deals dropped 289 times, while number of sold shares declined 35.2 times.

    Government of Ajara reported that volume of investments, made in 2 new hotels, being opened in Batumi yesterday, totaled to 16 million lari.

    Chinese company Xinjiang Hualing Industry & Trade (Group) Co. Ltd (new owner of Basisbank) starts implementation of project on free zone creation on Tbilisi Sea.

    Chinese are going to invest $350 million in the project, envisaging development of entertainment objects, residential areas, hotels and necessary infrastructure.

  12. Versia: “NEW PLAN OF VANO MERABISHVILI – EMPLOYED ON THE ROADS AND INSURED POPULATION”

    Employment, affordable healthcare and development of Georgian villages are the main line by which former Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili “has to eradicate unemployment, as he had defeated corruption and crime on its time”, the newspaper reports.

    In order to fight unemployment, additional 5,000 km of roads will be built, which should create at least 40,000 new jobs, and foreign investment of $4 billion will be attracted, providing creation of 50,000 new jobs.

  13. “ALITALIA” LAUNCHED FLIGHTS TO GEORGIA

    Italian air carrier Alitalia launched today flights between Rome and Tbilisi.

    According to Georgian Civil Aviation Agency, the flights will be implemented by A320 planes 2 times a week: Rome-Tbilisi – on Mondays and Saturdays, while Tbilisi-Rome – on Tuesdays and Sundays.

  14. 44.4% OF “KUTAISI LITHOPONE PLANT” SOLD THROUGH OTC DEAL

    Georgian Stock Exchange reported on OTC deal, held on 259,675 shares of JSC Kutaisi Lithopone Plant (44.4% of emission). The stake was sold for 259,675 lari, so price per share made up 1 lari (nominal – $0.88).

  15. “UNIPAY” TO OFFER ON-LINE SHOPPING

    Local payment system UniPay announced Unifest, service of on-line shopping, which will be launched for users of UniPay electronic wallet on July 4.

    The company will provide countrywide service, securing delivery of production, being purchased in more than 35 shops: Embawood, Goodwill, Dika, Safilo, Chita, Baccara, Bakur Sulakauri Publishing House, etc.

  16. GEORGIAN SIDE EXPECTS JICA’S FUNDING FOR ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE

    Japanese International Cooperation Association (JICA) will allot this year $200 million to Georgia in terms of infrastructure, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri declared while having official visit to Japan.

    According to Gilauri, the matter concerns construction of Kutaisi by-pass road (part of Zestaponi-Kutaisi-Samtredia road).

  20. AIRPORT TO BE CONSTRUCTED IN OZURGETI

    President Mikheil Saakashvili declared that construction of airport will be started in village Meria in Ozurgeti district (Guria region). Besides, he said that airport will be built in Poti as well, while airport in Telavi (Kakheti region) will be rehabilitated, adding that airport in Kutaisi will be opened in September.
