    Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili will pay official visit to Iran on April 22-23, administration of the government reported.

    Planned visit and bilateral relations were discussed at today’s meeting between Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

    Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that issues of further development of transport communication between Georgia and India have been considered within visit of the Minister Giorgi Gakharia to that country.

    The Ministry said that Georgian party expressed interest in involvement in Mumbai – Bandar Abbas transport corridor, envisaging transportation of freight from Indian port of Mumbai to Europe via Iran, Azerbaijan and Georgia (through Black Sea ports of Poti and Batumi).

    According to the Georgian Airports Association, passenger traffic in Kutaisi Airport hit its highest point in 2016, totaling to 271,363 passengers.

  13. CONSTRUCTION OF KUTAISI AIRPORT’S ACCESS RAILWAY STARTED

    Construction of 3-km branch railway, leading to Kutaisi International Airport, was solemnly launched yesterday evening. Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who took part in the ceremony, declared that passengers will be able to get to the airport by new railway in 364 days.

    Georgian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, paid symbolic visit to Greece capital Athens political center of Europe – Brussels, celebrating enactment of visa-free travel regime with Shengen area.

    As Kvirikashvili declared, it is symbolic that Georgia signed Association Agreement with the EU during Greece’s presidency of the European Council.
