   Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili will pay official visit to Iran on April 22-23, administration of the government reported.

   Planned visit and bilateral relations were discussed at today’s meeting between Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

3. GEORGIA AND INDIA DISCUSSED DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSPORT COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN TWO COUNTRIES

   Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that issues of further development of transport communication between Georgia and India have been considered within visit of the Minister Giorgi Gakharia to that country.

   The Ministry said that Georgian party expressed interest in involvement in Mumbai – Bandar Abbas transport corridor, envisaging transportation of freight from Indian port of Mumbai to Europe via Iran, Azerbaijan and Georgia (through Black Sea ports of Poti and Batumi).

4. ECONOMY MINISTRY: PRELIMINARY STUDY BEGINS ON FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH INDIA

   Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development announced about start of preliminary study on free trade agreement, planned to sign with India. Georgia’s Economy Minister Giorgi Gakharia and India’s State Minister of Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman have signed respective document in New Delhi.

5. REPORT ON NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS STRATEGY’S IMPLEMENTATION: SAFETY AT WORK REMAINS ESSENTIAL PROBLEM IN GEORGIA

   Report on implementation of Georgia’s National Human Rights Strategy for 2014-2020 states that safety at work remains essential problem in Georgia.

   “After enactment of new state program on labor inspection in 2016, possibility of creation of effective mechanism should be additionally thought out, which will have enforcement authority”, the document points.

6. APPROVAL OF REHABILITATION PLAN FOR LLC “MARSHE” PLANNED FOR MAY

   Tbilisi city court announced that rehabilitation plan for LLC Marshe is planned to approve at creditors meeting, scheduled on May 30. The plan was presented by rehabilitation manager Giorgi Gvalia on February 15.

   Giorgi Udzilauri, head of PR service of Cartu Group (owned by billionaire ex-premier Bidzina Ivanishvili), stated while commenting relocation of trees by Ivanishvili: “Dendrological park would not be arranged, if trees do not cross the roads”.

   Collection of unique trees is made “In order to arrange dendropark, which will be open for public”, Udzilauri pointed.

11. UNWTO HOLDS EURO-ASIAN MOUNTAIN RESORTS CONFERENCE IN TBILISI

    The 3^rd conference of Euro-Asian Mountain Resorts of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) was started in Tbilisi today. The 2-day event, titled “Innovative Strategies for Sustainable Mountain Tourism Development”, has brought together about 300 delegates from more than 40 countries.

    From Kutaisi Airport, which began operation in 2012, low-coster WizzAir conducts flights to Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Great Britain.

    According to the Georgian Airports Association, passenger traffic in Kutaisi Airport hit its highest point in 2016, totaling to 271,363 passengers.

13. CONSTRUCTION OF KUTAISI AIRPORT’S ACCESS RAILWAY STARTED

    Construction of 3-km branch railway, leading to Kutaisi International Airport, was solemnly launched yesterday evening. Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who took part in the ceremony, declared that passengers will be able to get to the airport by new railway in 364 days.

14. GEORGIA AND EUROPOL AGREED ON COOPERATION

    Today, Georgia and European Police Office (Europol) signed agreement on operative and strategic cooperation. In near future, the document will be submitted to the Parliament for ratification.

15. THE GOVERNMENT DISCUSSED PROVISION OF IDPS WITH SOURCE OF SUBSISTENCE

    At the meeting today, the Cabinet has considered action plan for provision of internally displaced persons (IDP) with source of subsistence, administration of the government reported.

    Georgian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, paid symbolic visit to Greece capital Athens political center of Europe – Brussels, celebrating enactment of visa-free travel regime with Shengen area.

    As Kvirikashvili declared, it is symbolic that Georgia signed Association Agreement with the EU during Greece’s presidency of the European Council.
