   Georgian government reported that large-scale events, devoted to winegrowing and winemaking, will be held during 3 months, starting from end of July, in Bordeaux Center for Wine and Civilizations (France).

   Georgia will be the first manager of these events, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili declared at the government meeting today.

2. HOTEL ON LOPOTA LAKE TO BE EXPANDED

   Partnership Fund signed agreement with LLC Lopota Investment, which envisages expansion of hotel on Lopota Lake (Napareuli village, Kakheti region).

   According to the document, the Fund will invest $5.4 million in the company, established jointly with Lopota Investment.

   Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated that appeal of 30 members of the US Congress to President Donald Trump with support to Georgia “testifies that Georgia is very important partner of the US”.

   “It was so for 25 passed years and we have a big hope that within next 25 years we will be able to establish even closer partnership”, the Premier declared at the government meeting today.

   According to joint research of Civil Platform – New Georgia and Monitoring Center Mediator, deputies, staff employees and officials of Georgian Parliament have received in 4 months of this year remuneration of 4.85 million lari.

   That volume included salaries of MPs, totaling to 3.04 million lari, which include in their turn supplements of 1.84 million lari.

5. THE GOVERNMENT: QATARI “AL FARDAN GROUP” SHOWS INTEREST IN INVESTING IN GEORGIA

   Al Fardan Group, one of the largest Qatari companies, is interested in investing in Georgia. As Georgian government said, the mentioned was declared by the company’s president and CEO Omar Hussain Al-Fardan during today’s meeting with Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

6. ECONOMY MINISTER: PROPERTY EXPROPRIATION FOR ROPEWAY INSTALLATION WAS OUR PERSONAL INITIATIVE

   Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared that property expropriation for urgent public needs, namely – for installation of ropeway’s stationary facilities, “was our personal initiative”.

   The Minister stated the mentioned in response to Georgian Young Lawyers Association’s assumption that the mentioned initiative is related with “Panorama Tbilisi” (project of ex-premier billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili).

7. GEORGIA AND MOLDOVA AGREED ON ECONOMIC COOPERATION ENHANCEMENT

   Tbilisi hosted first meeting of Georgia-Moldova intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation today.

   As Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development said, the meeting scoped consideration of cooperation enhancement in such fields as transport, tourism, energy, communications and innovation, environment protection, etc.

10. LAW ON “VINE AND WINE” TO BE RENEWED

    The Parliament initiated draft amendments to law “On Vine and Wine”, being adopted in 1998.

    Head of National Wine Agency Giorgi Samanishvili specified that neither policy nor direction will change, but the law will be updated in order to respond to new challenges.
